Resonance.

It occurs when a system is able to store and easily transfer energy between two or more different storage modes. But this happens to be my favorite term when I try to explain what it’s like to see a moment and feel like you captured it how you felt it. It I resonates with you, and collectively continues to do so with others.

It happens when you take a photograph, when you ride a horse, make a friend.

I have never prepared for anything so big as the birth of our daughter.

There have been many books, appointments, supplements, workouts, decisions, conversations, gathering of team, and of course not only the nursery but EVERY room in our house needed a “sprucing” of all the renovations and improvements I’ve thought of doing since we moved in but hadn’t gotten around to yet. 🙃

I remember when planning for our wedding, there was a point only a couple days before our guests arrived in Montana where all the preparing just had to stop. What was done was done and now the only thing that needed doing was Being. Even walking up to our welcoming event, I was scared I was skidding in and I wouldn’t be able to let go and drop in to enjoy it. But then I arrived on the lawn and saw them - “the silent majority” I later called them - all our loved ones, who we had not heard from because they did not have any additional questions or changes to make, or particularly care when the food was served. These over 150 people had just shown up at the appointed time and place to celebrate me and James. So simple. I cried on the spot, and nothing else mattered but being totally present from my first hug.

Now, here I am at nearly 38 weeks. My body is full and every corner of the birth room is prepped and organized. It is no longer the time to prepare or consider. What is done is done. What I have learned I have learned. Now, is the time to relish and reflect. To be with what’s here. She is the silent majority, and very soon it will be time to meet her. ✨
