The GOAT Pavarotti was dubbed the “King of the High C’s” because of this aria and now tenors are adding high D’s 😱 So of course I had to give it a scream haha My optimism was there, enthusiasm was there, backing track was there, was the high D there? 🫥🫥🫥 What the Fach 🫠🤭 by @baritonebenson

This is what distance does to the human voice. 🎧

Same voice. Same phrase. Same phone.
Just three different distances from the microphone.

The further away I went, the more the room became part of the sound.

Which one sounds best to you: close, middle or far?

The Don G in me simply couldn’t walk past.

He taonga te reo. He taonga te ao Māori.

For Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2026, I wanted to share this beautiful arrangement of Tarakihi by Carl Doy.

As a tangata Moana and tangata Tiriti, it has meant a great deal to me throughout my life to learn about, engage with and respect the culture of the whenua I was born on, Aotearoa.

Te reo Māori, te ao Māori, kapa haka and waiata Māori have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Aotearoa, these were things we encountered from our earliest years at school, through music, performance and the communities around us.

My parents encouraged that connection too, particularly my dad, who always felt that because Aotearoa was our home, it was important for us to learn about and engage meaningfully with te ao Māori.

That has stayed with me.

As a Sāmoan, I also feel deeply the kinship between our peoples across Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa, through our languages, our music, our values, our whakapapa and the ways we understand family and community.

So this waiata is my small contribution of aroha and celebration for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, honouring the reo, the waiata and the culture that have enriched my life since childhood.

A special thank you to @englishnationalopera for giving me the opportunity to share this work with wider audiences and through their platform during one of the lockdowns in the dreaded year 2020. It means a great deal to be able to bring this part of who I am, and the culture of the place I come from, into the spaces where I work and perform.

Kia kaha te reo Māori. Kia ora tonu te reo Māori.

@mana.arts.co were honoured to be invited to @londonhulaori summer showcase! We are super proud to support our āiga of the MOANA doing amazing things here in the capital! Here’s a reel without any trending sound because the mana and vibes say it all! We were blessed to have LSHO at @pasifikafestuk 2026 and we can’t wait to share videos from the festival!! EŌ!!! 🌺 by @baritonebenson

Just home from the London premiere of @lomu.film at Battersea Power Station, feeling uplifted, motivated and incredibly humbled.

There’s something so special about seeing one of our Pasifika stories celebrated on this side of the world. Seeing South Auckland — home, where I grew up — alongside Tonga really hit differently from here in London. And of course, I couldn’t stop myself humming along to Hala Kuo Papa 😅

Huge props to directors @vea_mafileo and @gavfitz_me and the entire LOMU team. What I loved most was how beautifully they showed that Jonah’s story was never just about Jonah — it was about his village. His family, his community, his culture and those who surrounded him with love. It was such a powerful reminder of how much mana we receive from the people who carry us and remind us who we are.

Congratulations to @londonbreezefilmfestival and @sylverents for bringing this story to London, and a massive mihi to the @nzinuk for inviting me on behalf of @mana.arts.co tonight. It was also special spending time with both the Deputy NZ High Commissioner and the Tongan High Commissioner around a story that belongs so deeply to Aotearoa and Tonga.

And so much aroha for our @ngatiranana whānau. We are incredibly lucky to have a whānau here genuinely centred around whanaungatanga, kotahitanga and manaakitanga. These aren’t just values we talk about — you feel them in how people show up for and carry one another.

The mana was felt tonight.

P.S. Yes, I know there are questions about the taʻovala 👀😂 Story time deserves its own post 🇹🇴

Madame Arvidson reading Cristiano’s future… 🔮

I don’t know what she told him, but with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ across the board, I’d say the stars are aligning 😉✨

Show two of @operahollandpark’s Un Ballo in Maschera tonight.

And that’s a wrap on another season at Opera Holland Park 👀

“Wilson is unquestionably one of those artists whose star deserves greater prominence… He has a unique richness, caressing warmth and limpidity.” — Mike Hardy, @operawire

“Benson Wilson was rather luxury casting as Cristiano.” — Planet Hugill @hugillr

I’ll take that 😂

Always good being back with my OHP family. Big love to the cast and team.

Tonight the masks are coming off for @operahollandpark production of Verdi’s masterpiece Un Ballo in Maschera, under the wonderful baton of my Guildhall bro @michaelpapconductor and directed by @rodulagaitanou 🎭

I am soo grateful to share this space with such talented and caring colleagues and a company that truly feels like family. This marks my third production with @operahollandpark and my third Verdi role (of many more to come 😉✨).
