‘On August 31st of this year the farmer and writer Wendell Berry died at the age of 92.

More than anyone else, Berry has shaped my experience of helping run the farm here at Barnabas Landing by giving me tangible language for the often hard to express hopes and longings that are at the heart of what we are attempting to do on this little farm. His poems and essays are honest in their assessment of our broken world, but they are solid in their refusal of despair. The work of restoration is always open to us; there is always a way to, in his phrase, “practice resurrection.”’

The chapter where I married my best friend 🤍

One month of marriage to the love of my life, and I can’t help but praise God for the incredible community He’s blessed us with. So many people made this day what it was, and I cannot contain my gratitude for how blessed we are by them!!

Our parents, for being the absolute best. We are so incredibly blessed by you. My amazing bridesmaids, who stepped up in more ways than I could count to make me feel so freaking special. Especially @onebeautifulyouartistry , who not only did my bridal makeup but also came over the week before the wedding while I was mid meltdown about my hair color.

Which brings me to @ashlainahdawn.hair for saving the day and giving me the most gorgeous color two days before the wedding, and @glowandgovancouver for making my hair and all my bridesmaids look stunning!

To @carino.bridal for pulling off my alterations in less than a month (a miracle, really), @lilyrodenfloralstudio for my dream bridal bouquet, and @sloanekirste and @dgetunflocked for stepping in the day of the wedding to make the girls’ bouquets.

To @mattroden.wav and @zeswimmerman for leading us in worship the eve of our wedding - it was our favorite part of the whole weekend.

To our incredible photographer and videographer @gritsanphotography because holy heck, have you seen these photos?! To our planner @eventsbyelle.ca for bringing this whole beautiful day to life, and the lovely @simplyhosted.co for keeping me sane, especially after reviewing approximately a billion design options for the letters our guests received. The patience of a saint and a beautiful visionary!

To our beautiful and holy spirit coated venue, @barnabaslanding we are so blessed the Lord led us to you! Thank GOD for Johnny and his AMAZING team!

And to every person who traveled, celebrated, prayed over us, danced with us, and made us feel so ridiculously loved. We couldn’t have imagined a more special day.

And finally, to my husband (still not over saying that). One month down, forever to go. I’d marry you a thousand times over.

Sundown on Summer 2026 🌄

And what a summer it was! Thank you to every single person who came—guests, volunteers, speakers, artists and summer staff alike. Your presence is what filled the season to the brim with wonder, delight, restoration and beauty. As the season turns, we pray we would all continue to bask in the glow of the memories made: for God’s glory, and for our joy.
