Working within fashion design and specialising in tailoring, Barnaby’s practice is rooted in craftsmanship, storytelling and creating garments that are made to last. Inspired by history, literature and film, he begins every collection by imagining a character and the world they inhabit, before exploring mood, colour, fabric, energy and form. Preferring traditional pattern cutting and calico sampling over digital methods, his hands-on approach reflects a slower process that remains true to the craft of tailoring.

“In a world of fast fashion I wanted my collection to be the antidote to this. My overall desire was to create a collection of clothing that could be worn day in, day out and become a part of the individual and his specific lifestyle.”

In our latest interview, Barnaby reflects on designing beyond trends, creating collections that place people before clothing, and why he believes the ultimate form of sustainability is making garments that are treasured for a lifetime.
