0.9 miles. 3,800 steps from our front door to his crib in the NICU. It took Theo over six months to travel that distance. He’d become somewhat of a celebrity in the hospital for his perseverance and charisma, but even with that it came as a surprise to us when all the doctors and nurses lined the halls to see him off as he graduated the NICU.

His strength through this epic journey has inspired many, but I think mostly me, I’m in continual awe of all that he’s overcome. Theo you’re a legend and you don’t even know it. I can wait to see the person you grow up to be. by @barrethacia

our perfect son! ❤️ Theodore Finnegan Hacia was born with the full super moon on november 5th, arriving tiny but mighty after 40 hours of induced labor + a c-section. we are so grateful for the incredible team who stayed by our side and gave us hope through the most intense portal i’ve ever been through—our bodies are miraculous.

theo will remain in the NICCU at CHLA as he awaits heart surgery, which we knew about for most of my pregnancy. he is such a strong little guy and is doing so well—he’s had a big fan club with his nurses since his first day 🥰

we have an amazing, and growing, web of support through our community, family and CHLA—a big shout out to the grandmas who have been here supporting us all so we can be together with our baby as much as possible, and so my body can heal.

every day i move through the most difficult parts of this experience, and there are many, but i have truly never known a greater love—this love is the light guiding us through the hardest weeks as we await theo’s procedure and his homecoming. i don’t know what i would do without B, my incredible husband and the best papa to baby boy—theo and i are so lucky to be loved by him. i feel so lucky. ❤️ by @barrethacia
