Art/Photography/Happenings (REVISED): Thanks to a torrential storm forecast for this Sunday (yes, again!), my Closing EVENT for FLEETING OBSERVATIONS at SUNNY'S BAR in Red Hook, Brooklyn is cancelled. In its place, I'll be at Sunny's TOMORROW (Saturday) from noon till about 2:30 for a more casual meet-n-chat. Weather should be nice this time, so drop by, see the exhibit, ask questions (maybe over a pint), and have fun! taken in Sunny's Bar by @barrettwbenton

Art/Photography/TODAY: Well, it turns out I'm in Gotham right now, and at SUNNY'S BAR, no less. I'll be hanging out for a little while, so if you just happen to be in the area and want to take a look at my FLEETING OBSERVATIONS exhibit (and maybe ask a few questions), please do come by. AND, remember the date (October. 11th) for the closing party! taken in Sunny's Bar by @barrettwbenton

After the Deluge: Having our basement sump-pump fail during a record-rainfall dump was, let's just say, Not Fun. It's at these moments when I look at stuff reminding me that things can go more sideways than this. by @barrettwbenton

Today/Pictures At an Exhibition: Well, so far I'm 0-for-2, weather-wise, for my Ask the Photographer (almost) Anything talks at Sunny's Bar in Red Hook, where my FLEETING OBSERVATIONS show is up (till October 11th, folks!). As mentioned in a previous post, I'll be having an additional event next Sunday (9/27), also rain-or-shine, but I can't guarantee there nor being SRO spacing due to the fantastic live-music event happening at roughly the same time. (Honest, it's damned good.) by @barrettwbenton

QUICK REVISION IN SCHEDULE: It appears weather this weekend is NOT working in my favor (again), so this Sunday's event (9/13) is postponed, while next Sunday's event (9/20) is still on. Hope to see y'all there! Photography/Events: On Sunday, September 20th, between 2:30 and 4PM, I'll be as Sunny's Bar in Red Hook, Brooklyn, for an informal "Ask The Photographer (almost) Anything" Q&A, including a bit of talk about my ongoing exhibit FLEETING OBSERVATIONS at Sunny's. taken in Sunny's Bar by @barrettwbenton

Today/Exhibits/Almost Showtime: It's been way over a decade since last doing this, but I'm happy to announce my solo photo show FLEETING OBSERVATIONS is opening this Thursday (8/27) at SUNNY'S BAR (253 Conover St., Brooklyn, NY). 5-8PM, and will be showing until October 12th.

Politics/Unending the Game Board: Not the first time for this, either.

"Since 1968, stealing elections has become a sport for Republicans. That was the year that Nixon was running for president against VP Hubert Humphrey — who had just successfully negotiated peace between North and South Vietnam — when Nixon had his people reach out to the leaders of South Vietnam and promise them riches if they’d refuse to go to Paris and sign the deal." by @barrettwbenton
