Daylight savings is almost upon us, and with it comes the return of FRIDAY evening book clubs. We can sit outside and enjoy the rapidly approaching Summer.

We're keeping the theme of haunting from last month, but we're taking a radically different angle to it. @bec_marshmallow has dealt us this read, I'm so keen to get into it!

We're always at BARRIO, but we'll be out the front (weather permitting), so bring your outdoor socks. Civic Pub afterwards, how could we not? Join the WhatsApp chat linked above so I save you a spot.

The 2026 Oceania Orienteering Championship will be held in Canberra on Ngunnawal Country this coming week.
To celebrate the Barrio crew are putting on their running shoes and brewing some delicious coffee for a post race recovery run. So come hang out with us on Monday morning September 28th for a Cruisy 5k around the wetlands starting and finishing at Barrio Roastery Fyshwick (don’t go to Lonsdale St). Join us for some killer brews at $5 a cup, sweet AF Under pastries and a light jog*.
We’ll also have a little demo on in the roastery afterwards for anyone who wants to learn a little more about coffee.

Thier will also be a give away thanks to Intersport. A runners accessories pack and a pair of runners.

Bec frothing our new matcha here in Braddon. Premium @teacraft_kt matcha blended with @fancyfarmermacadamia oil, @senormaguey agave and sea salt. Bloody rips as a shaken icy on our house almond milk but plays nice with @tilbadairy too. by @barriocc

Spring may be upon us but the darkness remains... wrapped up in a horror-comedy adventure! A change of pace for the club, really keen to get into it. Thanks to resident sauce/drinks master Trent of @unscriptedfermentation for the suggestion!

The last month of Winter is already upon us, and with it a new book to read! I'm a die hard sci-fi reader so I am really excited to get into this one. We have a few CANCERs in the club, this suggestion from the lovely @fitzzzx got the edge this year. Thanks to everyone who made a suggestion!
