Black cinema. Unapologetically ours.
OBE Studios is building the home our stories deserve.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today is my birthday. And instead of just celebrating what has been, I’m making a declaration about what’s coming.

Black cinema has always had the stories. What it hasn’t always had is the platform to tell them without compromise.

That changes now.

OBE Studios is building the home that Black film, Black comedy, and Black storytelling deserves authentic, excellent, and unapologetically ours. No waiting for Hollywood to greenlight our stories. No watering down the truth to fit someone else’s vision.

This is my birthday gift to myself — and to every person who has been waiting for a place like this to exist.

We’re building something that has never been built this way before. And I want you there from the beginning.

Drop your email in the link in my bio. When we launch, you’ll be the first inside.

I still can’t believe this moment is here. After pouring my heart into every frame, every scene, every second of this story—I’m beyond excited (and a little nervous) to finally share the official trailer for The Flight Before Christmas with you all.

This film has been a dream years in the making. From stepping behind the camera as director to bringing this character to life on screen, it’s been the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life. I gave everything I had to this project, and I truly hope it brings you the magic, laughter, and heart that the holiday season deserves.

This is more than just a movie to me—it’s a love letter to everyone who believes in second chances, family, and the power of coming home for the holidays.

I can’t do this without you. Watch the trailer, share it with someone who needs a little Christmas magic, and let me know what you think. Your support means everything.

#aboutlastnight. 🥹❤️

There is something so powerful about witnessing what it looks like to put ACTION behind your FAITH. To stop waiting for someone else to validate your gifts, deem you worthy, or give you permission… and instead CREATE, BUILD, and make room for the vision God gave you.

Brewer, our journeys have paralleled in so many ways over the years, and seeing what you’ve built with OBE Studios was beyond inspiring. I am SO incredibly proud of you and grateful I got to come to Chicago and witness it for myself. Congratulations again to you and the entire OBE team 🙌🏾

Y’all go follow and support @obe_studio ❤️

And Chicago… my very first visit to your beautiful city did not disappoint. Thank you for showing me so much love. Until next time! 🥹🙏🏾✨ taken in Chicago, Illinois by @barrybrewerjr

Black people don’t usually plan babies, we just adapt on the fly 💀.

When my wife got us trying to plan it out, she had me at the doctor checking my stats. Man, I had to remind her about my track record! She really had my ass sitting at the doctors doing some "white people stuff". 🤣

P.S. New episodes of Jack & Jill drop every Tuesday at 12 PM CT on the OBE Studios YouTube channel. Don't miss it.
