Soooo happy to say that I’ll be chatting with André Aciman and Sarah Maxwell at Foyles on September 1 to celebrate the new graphic novel adaptation of Call Me by Your Name. It’s almost 20 years since CMBYN was first published and I don’t think it’s hyperbole to call it one of the most culturally influential queer stories of the century so far. New & Noteworthy 3 (!!!) will take place on August 13th and we will be reading… The Vivisectors by Missouri Williams!!
As always, we will discuss the book and then dissect the discourse.

If you’re not familiar with New & Noteworthy, it’s the monthly bookclub I run in @wearebardbooks where we read and discuss the latest books that have been dominating the literary discourse, as well as interrogating the reviews, think pieces, interviews and profiles that have fed the maelstrom. PDFs of the criticism will be sent out in advance of the night. As one attendee described it: it’s the bookclub for people who really miss university.

We are capped at 12 places for each session. Tickets are now available to be purchased directly through the bookshop’s website (link in bio!) with the option of just the ticket or the ticket and the book (which you’ll have to pick up from the shop but it’s the cheaper option…)
