A 1934 National meets a 1948 Gibson Super 300–Basch Jernigan and I discuss bringing vintage guitars back to life with a little (ok, a lot of) help, the guitar’s role in songwriting, gigging with a 90+ year old instrument, amplifying acoustics in the wild and what to reasonably expect, Basch’s spot next Tuesday night at New Orleans’ own @banksstreetbar at the first Chris Vincent & The Raw Deals New Orleans Songwriters Listening Room with @travis_marc @jmixdoesitall @taylonfloydmusic and @realpaulfaith , and much more. @baschington - his talent and passion are evident from yhe first frame—enjoy this one folks. Streaming on YouTube at ChrisVincentMusic-link in bio.

A 1934 National Duolian and a 1948 Gibson Super 300, both brought back to life by New Orleans’ own @strangeguitarworks, take center stage this Friday on the YT channel. Basch is a standout player—new guitarists, notice how he’s both listening and choosing his lines—Featured on the @realpaulfaith excellent “New Orleans’ Songwriters Protest Record, Basch and I dive into the vintage guitars that have found their way onto our knees, songwriting, and the upcoming New Orleans’ Songwriters Listening Room @banksstreetbar on the last Tuesday of every month starting July 28th, 8pm. His passion for all things music is infectious folks: come for the guitars, stay for the story of this young man currently making quite a name for himself both in New Orleans and beyond. See you on the YT channel @ chrisvincentmusic on Friday and at Banks, with @travis_marc next Tuesday night.

New Orleans Songwriters in a listening room environment @banksstreetbar on the last Tuesday of the month through December. Four unique songwriters, four individual sets, drums available courtesy of @travis_marc, and a short opening set of new songs by yours truly and The Raw Deals to get the ball rolling. In the end my friend, it’s the songs that matter, hand written and hand played, and that’s exactly what we’re bringing your way. More details to come. See you Tuesday, July 28th, 8-11pm.

Tonight at @chickiewahwah_nola ! I’ll be with an amazing collective of New Orleans songwriters performing original protest songs that were written and recorded for a compilation album organized by @realpaulfaith and released on June 12. I’m lucky to support these amazing songwriters tonight on their songs with my brothers @t.self_bass and @dennisaoun in addition to playing our own. All proceeds will be donated to @islaimmigration !

Thank you so much to Paul for hatching this idea, manifesting it with such a Herculean effort, and inviting us to be apart of it. And thank you so much to every singer songwriter and musician who contributed - I truly love this album and it’s been such a joy to be a part of this project ❤️❤️❤️

On July 4th, I’ll be joining several of my comrades in the New Orleans songwriter scene to celebrate the release of our compilation of protest songs. Each of us will play the song we contributed, backed by the @baschington band! I’m personally excited for this because I haven’t played with a full band in years.
Big thanks to @realpaulfaith for inviting me to participate in this project, and thank you to @chickiewahwahnola for giving us a place to party. The show starts early (~7 pm), so you should still have time to shoot fireworks afterward if you are so inclined. See y’all out there!
