A little girl from Gaza lost her home and her dreams… all she asks for is to live like other children in the world.
#SaveLara

My name is Lara. I am almost 3 years old, from Gaza.
I once had a home and toys… but the war took it all away.
All I dream of is to live like every other child in the world. 🕊️
We are asking international organizations and human rights institutions to help us leave Gaza and save our lives.
Please share this video so my voice can reach those who can make a change. 🙏

A day in our life… under the tent, under the sky, under the weight of survival.
From lighting the fire…
To preparing breakfast with what little we have…
Washing dishes… doing the laundry…
Trying to bring some order to the chaos of the tent…
And between it all, finding small stolen moments to play with Lara & Mira—to remind them, and myself, that life still exists… even here… even like this.

This isn’t a lifestyle. It’s survival wrapped in love, exhaustion, and resilience.
And somehow… we keep going! by @basel.pal95

470 days of destruction, loss, and pain. 470 days of waiting to return to what was once our home. Today, my daughter Lara smiles again as we step back into the ruins of our house in Gaza. A house that was shattered by war, but still holds the memories of a life we once knew.

This is not just a home—it’s a symbol of resilience. With nothing but plastic sheets to shield us from the cold, we’ve tried to rebuild what was taken from us. These walls may be broken, but our hope is not.

Lara’s laughter echoes through the rubble, a reminder that even in the darkest times, there is light. But we cannot do this alone. We need your help to turn these fragile pieces into a safe haven for my family and others like us.

Your support can rebuild lives. Your kindness can bring warmth to those who have known only cold. Please, help us heal. Help us rebuild. Because no child should have to call a broken house a home.

Two years ago, you came into this world, my little Mira,
and somehow, even in the darkest days, you brought your own light with you.

For two years, I have watched your tiny hands reach for life,
your eyes discover the world,
and your smile turn ordinary moments into something worth remembering forever.

You may be too little to understand how much you mean to me now,
but one day, I hope you will know that your laughter was a kind of hope,
your hugs were a kind of home,
and simply having you beside me made the hardest days feel softer.

Today, you are two.
Two beautiful years of you.
Two years of loving you more deeply than words could ever explain.

Grow gently, my little girl.
Keep that beautiful light in your eyes,
and may life someday give you back every beautiful thing you deserve.

Happy 2nd birthday, my Mira. 🤍
Daddy loves you beyond this life and every life after. 🎂✨ by @basel.pal95

My little Lara is officially a KG1 student. 🎒🥹❤️

I don't know why these simple moments make me so emotional.

Buying her school clothes, preparing her little backpack, choosing her notebooks and supplies, watching her get ready in the morning… and then seeing her walk into kindergarten for the first time.

For many parents, these may be ordinary milestones.

For us, nothing about reaching this moment was ordinary.

Lara has spent most of her little life surrounded by war, displacement, tents, fear, and uncertainty. She learned what it means to leave a place in a hurry long before she should ever have known what displacement means.

And now I watch her carrying a school bag instead.

That image means everything to me.

After everything she has lived through, I want her world to become about teachers, friends, drawings, letters, toys, and dreams — not tents, evacuation warnings, and fear.

But giving her this small piece of normal childhood also comes with responsibilities that are difficult for us right now.

There are kindergarten fees, registration costs, clothes, shoes, school supplies, transportation, food, and all the little daily expenses that come with sending a child to school — while at the same time I am still trying to cover our rent and rebuild the basic life we lost.

Still, when I see how excited she is, I know why I keep trying.

I cannot give Lara back the childhood that war has already taken from her. But I will do everything I can to protect the childhood she still has ahead of her.

To every friend who has stood beside our family and helped us reach moments like this: please know that your support is not just helping us survive.

You are helping my daughters live.

Today, Lara isn't carrying the things we need to survive another displacement.

She's carrying her first school bag. 🎒❤️

And as her father, that is one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a very long time.

KG1, here comes Lara. 🥹📚 by @basel.pal95

It never ends. It simply follows us wherever we go.

After three years of living in tents, I finally moved my wife and my two little girls into a rented apartment.

For the first time in years, I thought we could close the door behind us and feel safe — even for a while.

And now, an evacuation warning has been issued for a house near our new place.

Just like that, the fear is back.

The sound of danger is close again.
The possibility of running again is real again.
And that small feeling of safety we had just begun to experience has disappeared.

How many times are we supposed to start over?

We lost our home.
We lived through years of displacement.
We slept in tents.
We moved again and again.
And when I finally managed to put a roof over Lara and Mira's heads, even that roof came with fear.

This is one of the cruelest parts of this life:

You don't only lose your home once.
You lose the feeling of having a home over and over again.

You unpack your bags, but you never really stop being ready to run.

You put your children to bed, but part of you remains awake, wondering whether you'll have to carry them out again.

I am exhausted from rebuilding a life that can be shattered again with a single warning.

We are not asking for much.
We just want one night where a home can simply be a home — not another place we may have to flee. by @basel.pal95

Important update:

My family decided to give up the apartment I rented for them to my younger brother, Dr. Salem, who's been working in the Emergency Department since the start of the war for a salary that doesn't exceed $150 a month!

He's getting married and starting his life in this apartment, and this is our way of helping him build that life, especially after everything he's given during the genocide without holding back, and he truly deserves the support, especially since he isn't even receiving the pay he's owed.

So I decided to fix up the tent for winter instead, especially since it's become worn down and needs modifications. The work has already started and is almost finished.

But unfortunately, everything is overpriced, it's costing far more than I expected.

This past period has carried heavy burdens: renting two apartments, furnishing them, setting up another tent, on top of the never-ending basic needs, for my own small family (me, Angham, Mimi, and Lulu), and for my parents and siblings.

This is a heartfelt request, and I hope it reaches your compassionate hearts. The financial burdens and commitments I'm facing this period are more than I can bear without your generous support.

Please help and share the word with support and share the word with family and friends who might be able to contribute.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🫶♥️🫂 by @basel.pal95

After three years of living in tents… we finally have a door to close behind us. ❤️🏠

Today, I want to share something with you that means more to me than I can put into words.

After three long years of displacement, tents, freezing winters, unbearable heat, rain flooding our belongings, and constantly wondering where we would sleep next… my family and I have finally moved into a small rented apartment.

A real roof above Lara and Mira.
Walls around them.
A door we can close.
A place where they can sleep, play, and wake up without being surrounded by the fabric of a tent.

I filmed this little video after we finished preparing the apartment because I wanted you to see what your support has created.

After God, I owe this moment to the incredible friends who stood beside us. You helped me pay the rent, prepare the apartment, and buy the basic things we needed to turn an empty space into a temporary home.

Every mattress, every piece of furniture, every small detail you see in this video carries a piece of your kindness.

For some people, this may look like a simple apartment.

For us, after three years in tents, it feels like getting a small piece of our life back.

Our real home is still gone, and there is still a long road ahead of us. This apartment cannot replace what we lost, but for now, it gives my family something we have desperately missed:

dignity, privacy, warmth, and a little safety.

To every person who donated, shared our story, checked on us, or helped us reach this moment:

Look at this video and know that you were part of making it possible.

Thank you for helping me give Lara, Mira, and my family a home again — even if only temporarily.

After three years…

Tonight, we are not sleeping in a tent. ❤️ by @basel.pal95

Every one of you who supported us made it possible for my family to rent two small apartments, a safe place for my little family, and another for my parents and siblings. I’m deeply grateful.

Many of you saw the first apartment tour I shared a couple of days ago. Today, I’m sharing the second one. As I mentioned before, it still needs essential repairs before it can become a livable home.

If you weren’t able to help with the rent, I hope you’ll consider helping us finish these repairs instead. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to finally settling into a place we can call home.

And if you can’t donate, please help by sharing our story with your family and friends. Your voice can make all the difference. 🙏 by @basel.pal95

This apartment is only standing because of you.

Thank you to everyone who gave, shared, and believed this was possible. Three years of displacement, and this is the first step back toward a real home.

As you can see, it's empty, and like so many homes left behind by this war, it needs real work. Repairs, basic furnishing, making it livable again. That part isn't finished, and it isn't free.

A second apartment is coming next for my family. Their video is on the way.

If you can help with rent, help with rent. If you can help with repairs, help with repairs. And if you can't give right now, share this. Every share is still helping us get home.

Three years, we've dreamed of this. With you, we're finally getting there. 🙏 by @basel.pal95

All the kitties I hung out with this week (and especially my baby Artemis) want to tell you about @basel.pal95! ICYMI, every month of 2026, I’m donating to a Palestinian in Gaza who needs help, and Basel and his family could certainly use our help again. Basel has been using all his funds to provide for his two young daughters. Now, he is sick and struggling to pay for medical care. His 🔗 is on my page and I’d love it if folks could match me!

If you can comment to b00st, please do! Tell me about your pets below.

Just as we document our happy moments, it doesn't hurt to document our hard ones too, moments we'll get through, even if some days we doubt it.

It's like three years of genocide and displacement, all the exhaustion I never let myself feel, finally caught up with my body all at once and put me flat on my back.

Alhamdulillah 🙏♥️ by @basel.pal95
