🖤 Happy New Year 🖤

Back in the clinic and looking forward to seeing you all.

I have to admit, I have found it difficult to show up on here and promote my business when the world seems to be falling apart. However, I feel most useful when looking after other people and if I can spread some love in my clinic then I’m all for it!

A recap on my beliefs and my business. In a world where we are often told we need to ‘fix’ ourselves, I offer a safe space where I won’t tell you that you’re a problem to be fixed. I listen to each and every client and if there are issues with skin health then absolutely they need to be addressed as this can really affect mental health.

I refuse to sell you a problem though. What I do sell is a time out from the world to reset your central nervous system with soothing lympathic massage, which does your mind and your lymphatic system a world of good.

I’m a big believer in acids, don’t get scared off by this though! I don’t like scrubbing, or attacking the face with instruments, I like using my hands and I like acid exfoliation, or deep hydration depending on what the skin needs.

Micro-needling is one of my favourite treatments, but results can take time. Brightness and smoothing of the skin can be seen quickly, softening other areas, treating scarring and strengthening the skin is a long term goal.

I don’t offer an abundance of treatments, I like to stick with my core principles and at the heart of that is massage and I have a very hands on approach.

January is booked up, but February is open with lots of space so get in touch, I’d love to see you all.

Wishing you a healthy year, filled with peace and self love x by @baseskinclinic

Wow. Waking up to a message like this, after treating a new client last night, is so wonderful. It really is a two way street though, and my client last night walked in with great energy which puts me at ease to do my job to the best of my ability. It is a great reminder that we are all energetic and what we put out we receive. That we can really make a difference to someone’s day, and we can be the person that calms and restores another, or we can add to the madness of the world. So a thank you to my client for walking in with an amazing smile, and a great energy, you did half the job for me! by @baseskinclinic

‼️ Trigger warning – some stitches shown.

Thank you @nekohealth for flagging a blemish for me. It was picked up on an AI full body scan, and they checked it again a few months later. After observing some changes, they advised I see a dermatologist to have it removed and tested.

Today I received my results and was shocked to find out it was severely dysplastic, which means it had a high chance of becoming cancerous, specifically melanoma. I don’t have skin cancer and it has been removed, but more worryingly, it had been checked many times before, I wasn’t concerned about it, and my attitude towards it was fairly relaxed. I also put off visiting the dermatologist for months.

The only change was the shape, which became patchy and irregular. So make sure you check your moles, and if you can, go for an AI body scan. It’s amazingly accurate and can track any skin changes annually. by @baseskinclinic

Come and join me for a busy, fully booked blemish removal clinic at Base Skin Clinic, Chorleywood.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at my day and some of the different lesions we treated throughout the clinic. It was a very busy one with a real mix of cases including seborrhoeic keratosis, sebaceous hyperplasia, fibrous papules, and the star of today’s show… a cyst.

Some of the removal clips have been slightly sped up so I could fit everything in, but this gives you a real snapshot of how the day unfolded.

I hope you enjoy watching the transformations as much as I enjoyed treating them.

I’ll be back in Chorleywood on the 14th May. If you’d like to book in, I’ll pop the link in my stories - appointments are limited and these clinics tend to fill up quickly. ✨ by @baseskinclinic

Skin tags are harmless but can be bothersome, especially if they catch on clothing or jewelry. One of the most effective ways to remove them is through electrolysis, which uses a tiny probe with an electric current to generate heat. This heat cuts and cauterises the tag simultaneously, usually there is no bleeding and quick healing.

Ok, I messed up. Being the Queen of Devices, I put this to one side and dismissed it without really giving it a proper go. Cue one rainy Monday, feeling sluggish, and very saggy I reached for the @deessepro Sculpta. To say I walked to school with a pep in my step is an understatement.

Brilliantly strong micro-current contracts the muscles, red LED light and warming radio-frequency tightens the skin. It rebuilds, restores and regenerates. The micro-current alone is probably the strongest of any at home device I have used.

Not for the faint hearted (or those that suffer with migraines or have any contra-indications - do check), I soon got used to the feel and actually now love the strong tightening sensation. I have tried Botox a handful of times but not for over a year now, and I just didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of relaxing my muscles. I’m a gym goer, I want tight, firm strong muscles. This is the workout I want for my face.

I’ll add it to treatments so everyone can get a feel, and will be stocking it in the clinic. Add it to your Christmas list stat!

And sorry @deessepro Sculpta, I should have used you sooner 🖤 by @baseskinclinic

To all clients coming to appointments this week.

Due to building work parking outside my home & clinic is limited.

If there is space please use the driveway otherwise there is parking on Dove Park.

Excited to see you all 🖤 by @baseskinclinic
