SHöK 021 || Bash Man

Bash Man is a Glaswegian DJ, producer and promoter who has been involved in the city’s electronic music scene for over a decade. Over that time he has played all over Scotland, and put on events, most notably the RUSH parties which are currently situated in the art school. His sets move through house, techno and the otherworldly sounds of electronic music with a taste for warped and jacking sounds that take you to a world beyond!

His tracks have been released through Non Stop Rhythm, Data Sync Records and Fear-E’s Posh End Music, alongside a 12-inch release on Edinburgh label StepBack Records. His productions explore different sides of his sound while carrying the same approach as his DJ sets.

Test pressings have arrived for my first solo 12” titled ‘Bash to basics’ coming out on @stepbackrecords at the end of January! Really happy with how this has turned out as well as the support from everybody so far ✊

Big thank you to @beatthekeyte @rwolfjazz and @hammay for backing the tunes and getting them pressed up! It’s the first of a few exciting things lined up for next year including our first RUSH party of 2025 😊

Next Friday we’re very excited to welcome @carilekebusch to @thevicandassembly aka the art school for his first UK appearance in 8 years with a special hybrid set of all his 90s productions 🤯

Tickets have been flying out for this one with us now onto the last release! Bounce on RA to grab some of you haven’t already before you miss out on a unique one off set from one of the most original producers in techno that’ll take you to a world beyond ☄️

It’s just over a week to go until @carilekebusch joins us in @thevicandassembly for his highly anticipated return to the UK for the for the first time in 8 years for a special hybrid set spanning all his 90s aliases!

Huge thanks to everyone who came down to our last do with @recordsqm and the pre party at @the.arly ! Was great to see so many familiar faces for our first party after a summer break and to catch @mathew.melvin_ closing things off with a stormer of a set!

For our next party on October 2nd we’re bringing one of the architects of modern techno to Glasgow for a very special one off.
@carilekebusch fingerprints are all over some of the best electronic music to come out of the 90s. Across his own name and a ridiculous number of aliases which include Agent orange, shape changer, Fred, Braincell and Vector.

Cari built a huge body of music that moved between wild techno, house, electro, acid, dub and funk which has influenced so many people to this day. For RUSH he’ll be digging right back into that period for a special hybrid set made up of his own 90s productions, pulling music from across the different names and projects he was recording under at the time!

This is the era of @hproductions_soundarchitecture , Svek, Missile, Planet Rhythm and Harthouse. Music made while the Stockholm sound was still being formed, long before Swedish techno became the institution it is now. Full of jacking, futuristic records which still sound completely out there three decades later!🛸

It also marks a massively overdue return as Cari’s last UK appearance was in 2018 meaning this will be his first time back in about 8 years! As always we have our residents @bash.man___ and Mi$$ Co$mix in hand to set the tone with freaky house, techno, acid and breaks that will take you to a world beyond!

RUSH joins forces with @recordsqm for a seven hour, two venue celebration of house, techno, breaks and acid!

The Records crew have been making a name for themselves through their day parties bringing together some of the most talented young DJs coming through in Scotland for all vinyl action from start to finish. On Friday 4th September they link up with us to take things from @the.arly right through to The Art School aka @thevicandassembly

We’ll be kicking things off at The Arlington from 8pm with a free pre party featuring @bash.man___ , Mi$$ Co$mix, @theomcgeehan , @jacktierneyy , @jack.b.brown and @reubenhughson . The party then moves to The Art School where Bash Man and Mi$$ Co$mix open things up with Han McGhee and Tierney taking over before @mathew.melvin_ closes the night through until 3am for his debut in the art school!

One party, two venues and seven hours of house, techno, breaks and acid with every set across the night played strictly on wax.
