NYC, my forever city.
I slipped in on my birthday(Jan 9), thinking I’d keep it quiet.
Then the room filled with the kind of love you can’t book, buy, or fake.

These women.
Brilliant. Beautiful. The kind of presence that changes the temperature of a place.
If this is what getting older looks like, I’ll take seconds.

@morganbrodey - Grateful for you. by @basharwali

Rome. Two of the worlds I love most, shared on one stage.

At the YPO Global Hospitality Summit, I moderated a conversation with Alexis Mourot and @lavinia_biagiotti. We explored what we make, the way we receive people, and how even the tiniest gesture can linger for years.

We decide what to wear based on how we want to feel. In the same way, we choose where to stay. Being positioned between a fashion house and a hotelier’s perspective felt exactly right.

And yes, I truly enjoyed dressing for the occasion.

A few highlights from the stage, along with the looks that traveled to Rome with me. Designers are tagged in each frame.

My thanks to @ypoglobal and @basharwali for the invitation, and to Alexis and Lavinia for so generously sharing themselves.

The outfits returned home in a suitcase. The conversation is still being unpacked. by @basharwali

Rome keeps time in centuries. For a few days, it kept time for us.

100+ hospitality CEOs. One city that invented the dinner party.

Red soles met cashmere. The room lit up.

I closed with Longing for Belonging.

Then I ate my body weight in chestnuts. 🌰

All roads lead to Rome. This time, they led to each other.

Captivated audience. Or a very polite one. I’m going with captivated.

The Hot Seat at Arena by @designhotels. Thirty minutes. No slides. No script. Just the gap between the brochure and the stay.

I asked the questions. The room had the answers. I mostly held up a convent wall.

Hasta pronto, Oaxaca.

I go to a lot of conferences. Only one walked mariachis down the aisle.

Arena by @designhotels. The unconference conference.

I hosted The Hot Seat: the reality behind the glam. I facilitated. The room brought the brains.

Execution eats strategy for breakfast. Oaxaca served it with mole.

Grateful to be included. Counting down to the next one.

Congratulations to Tesla on unveiling the flying car this week. Land Rover sends its regards from 1948.

Nobody remembers what you wore, what you drove, or how the room looked. They remember how they felt standing next to you. Smaller or taller. Seen or skipped. That feeling is the receipt you leave behind, and it says everything about you that your bio never will.
