Will Wood makes it official and flips his commitment from Penn State to Boston College.

In his announcement, he expresses his confidence in Matt Campbell and Penn State:

“Thank you to Coach Campbell and Penn State for their belief in me. I have zero doubt they will turn things around and deserve the fanbase’s patience.

Penn State's growth has been frequently stifled by challenges on the field.

Now sitting below .500, how will Matt Campbell push the Nittany Lions to move forward in the second half of the season?

"I don’t think you can flinch right now. You’re building the foundation of a football program, and to be quite honest with you, the foundation of a program that needs to continue to showcase that it has the ability when it gets hard and when it gets tough. And again, we’re not there, right? I mean, we’ve proven that.

"Man, the second half of games, you know. Now it was the fourth quarter of a football game. You’re right there. The opportunity to go win the game. We have to work through that, and we have to build that from the inside out."

The last month has been challenging for everyone in the Penn State locker room, particularly QB Rocco Becht.

Following Saturday's loss to Michigan, Becht explained his mentality amid his recent struggles:

“I’m out there, playing free. I feel good. Some plays just aren’t there for me. They just don’t work out for me. I get unlucky. It happens. Like I said, it’s humbling. I’m going to continue to get better and grow.”

Becht's completion percentage has dropped from 70.3% in the non-conference to 59.6% in Big Ten play.

Penn State enters its bye week on the heels of another ugly loss and reeling from a four-game losing streak.

How does Matt Campbell think the Nittany Lions can use the off week to recalibrate after a difficult month of football?

"I think we’ve got to continue to pound away at the fundamentals and detail. There’s a lot of season left. There’s a lot of football left for us to grow. And again, my focus - and sole focus - is on this team: these seniors, this team, continuing to lay a foundation of the way we want to play football, the style of football we want to play, and who we want to become. And we have to demand a pathway forward."
