4 days until my first marathon and I’m over here trying to figure out if I can even RUN. 🥲🏃🏻‍♀️

After dealing with a hip injury, taking time off running, and questioning whether I’d even make it to the starting line, we’re finally testing the new shoes AND the hip.

Shoutout to @newbalance @newbalancerunning and @fleetfeet for helping me get race-day ready! 👟

I’m nervous, excited, and honestly just grateful to even have the opportunity to attempt something I once thought was impossible.

26.2 miles. My first marathon. Let’s see what happens. 🥹❤️

Running has always been the one place where everything gets quiet.

When life feels heavy, when my brain feels too loud, when I feel overwhelmed… I run. For a little while, it’s just me, my music, my feet hitting the ground, and nothing else matters.

I haven’t run since my half marathon two weeks ago because my hip has been hurting. Today I tried to lightly jog, hoping maybe it was finally better.

It wasn’t.

And I’d be lying if I said that didn’t make me REALLY sad.

But somewhere in that disappointment, I realized I have a choice.

I can be angry at my body for what it can’t do right now… or I can be grateful for what it still CAN do.

I still have two legs that carry me. I can still walk. I can still move my body. I can still get outside and feel the sun on my face. And maybe this season is here to teach me something I probably needed to learn anyway:

How to pivot without giving up.

Because slowing down isn’t the same thing as quitting.

Sometimes discipline is pushing yourself to keep going.

And sometimes discipline is having enough patience to heal so you can come back.

So for now, I’m walking. I’m healing. I’m learning.

Running will be there when I’m ready again. 🥲

Apparently I’ve been walking for free this whole time 😂

Between running, working out, chasing my kids around + just LIFE… I’m getting these steps in anyway, so I might as well get rewarded for them 👀

I’ve been trying out @MoveTogether and I actually love the challenge aspect because apparently a little competition is all I need to get moving 😂🏃🏽‍♀️

You can earn rewards toward gift cards just for hitting your movement goals, and if you wanna try it with me, use the link in my bio & come get your steps in with me 🤍

One thing I’m learning about running a business with ADHD is that I cannot keep running everything out of my head 😅

Because my brain will simultaneously remember an idea I had 6 months ago, tell me I should completely rebrand my business, remind me I need to text someone back… and somehow forget the actual thing I opened my laptop to do.

So lately I’ve been working on SYSTEMS.

Creating routines. Writing out processes. Making checklists. Organizing client follow-ups. And probably the biggest one for me… delegating.

I’ve always been the person who thinks “it’ll be faster if I just do it myself,” but that also means everything depends on me.

And when you’re running a business, raising kids, managing a household and trying to have goals outside of all of that… your brain eventually goes 🫠

I’m realizing that getting organized isn’t about magically becoming an organized person.

It’s about creating systems that still work when my brain feels scattered.

And hopefully building a business that doesn’t need me to personally hold every single piece of it together. 🤍

#Ad My definition of “active” looks a little different these days 😂 From lifting weights at the gym to running errands and doing all the mom things in between, I need clothes that can keep up with all the versions of me.

These @oldnavy pieces are SO comfortable, and the fleece set might officially be my new errand-day uniform. 🤎

I used to think I had to lose the weight first… then I could wear the cute gym fits.

But this is the body I have NOW. 5’4”, 157 lbs, 3 babies, 3 C-sections. It has rolls, a mom pouch, cellulite, and depending on the angle… a completely different personality 😂

And I’m still allowed to feel cute in it.

I can work toward my goals AND appreciate the body that’s getting me there. Those two things can exist at the same time. 🫶🏽

So wear the shorts. Wear the crop top. Wear the matching set. Stop saving everything for the version of you that you think is more deserving of it.

You don’t need an “after” body to start dressing like her. 🤎🐆

Set is linked in my bio/TikTok Shop 🤎 and yes, she passed the actual workout test 😂

I think my favorite part of becoming a runner is watching my kids start to believe they can do hard things too. 🥹

Victoria has watched me train, come to my races, asked to run with me… and today she completed her very first 5K. 😭🏃‍♀️🎃

Was it fast? Nope. Did we care? Also nope 😂 She crossed that finish line and I could not have been more proud of her.

I hope she remembers days like this. Not because of the miles or the medal, but because she learned that she can do something that feels hard and keep going anyway. 🥹

First 5K in the books for my little running buddy. 🎃🍂 @gourdyspumpkinrun

And now apparently I have competition for all my future race medals 😂🏅

22-year-old me had the drive. She just didn’t always know where to put it.

I ran when I needed to ground myself. I went to the gym because I wanted to be “skinny.” I drank way more than I should have, partied constantly, made questionable decisions, and looked for comfort anywhere I could find it.

The ambition was always there. The discipline wasn’t.

At 32, I’m learning to choose discipline over comfort. I run because I want to see what I’m capable of. I train because I want to be strong. I’m changing the way I speak to myself, changing my mindset daily, and learning to pour back into myself instead of constantly running on empty.

I’m still a work in progress. I still have my days. But the biggest difference between her and me?

22-year-old me was trying to escape herself. 32-year-old me is building someone she’s proud to be. 🤍

And I think she’d be pretty damn proud of us.
