POSTS STORIES REELS

Some glimpses from last weekend’s awards ceremony at @ivsfilmfestival. ❤️

I’m beyond thrilled to share that @khazanashortfilm won three awards at the 4th edition of IVSFF!

🏆 Best Film - Khazana (Treasure) @khazanashortfilm
🎬 Best Editing - Usman Noor @uzonoor
🔊 Best Sound Design - Nathan Ruyle @nathan.ruyle @tisdstudios

Winning Best Film means more than I can put into words, and I want to dedicate this one to the entire Khazana team. This award belongs to all of you. ❤️

A massive congratulations to @uzonoor for Best Editing. The rhythm, restraint and visual storytelling of Khazana owe so much to your work.

And a huge congratulations to @nathan.ruyle and the entire team at @tisdstudios for Best Sound Design. Khazana is a silent film, which made sound an especially important part of creating its world. Nathan and the TISD team brought so much detail, atmosphere and life to the film, and we’re incredibly proud to see that work recognised.

And I have to give a special shoutout to @asharkhalid, who was an insane production sound mixer on this film. The foundation of what Nathan and the TISD team were able to build in post started with the incredible work Ashar did on set.

There couldn’t have been a more meaningful place for these awards to happen. After travelling the world and screening at 15+ international film festivals, Khazana finally had its Pakistani Premiere at my alma mater, @indusvalleyschoolkarachi.

To come home and receive this recognition is incredibly special.

A special shoutout to the core team who made it to the festival and shared this moment with us. Having you there made the Pakistani Premiere and these three awards even more memorable. ❤️

To everyone who has been part of Khazana in any capacity: thank you.

I’m beyond thrilled to share that @khazanashortfilm has won Best Short Film and Best Sound Design at the @newarkindiefilmfest in the United States! 🇺🇸🏆

A huge congratulations to @nathan.ruyle and the entire team at @tisdstudios on this incredible recognition. The sound of Khazana was such an important part of bringing this silent film to life, and I’m immensely proud to see Nathan and the team’s work honoured in this way.

While I couldn’t be there in person, I’m incredibly grateful to my family for attending the festival and representing me and the film. Having them there to share this moment on my behalf made it all the more special. ❤️

My heartfelt thanks to the Newark Independent Film Festival, its jury, and everyone who watched and supported Khazana during its American Premiere.

We’re beyond thrilled to share that KHAZANA has won the First Prize in the Fiction Category at the 30th edition of @cortofilero in Valladolid, Spain 🇪🇸

An honour like this means a great deal to us and we’re proud to share this moment with everyone who has supported the film along the way.

While we had hoped to be there in person, the current global situation made it impossible for us to travel. We’re deeply grateful to @selectedfilmsdistribution for ensuring our presence was still felt, and to filmmaker and friend @mazartiles for graciously receiving the award on our behalf.

Our sincere thanks to Asociación Cultural de Cinematografía La Fila and the jury for this recognition.

KHAZANA (TESORO), de Basir Ahmed, recibe el Premio Representatividad de We Cam Fest Colombia 2026. 🏆🎬

Still can’t get over how grateful I am to have been able to take @khazanashortfilm to the world’s only South Asian Oscar®-qualifying film festival. It means so much to have had the opportunity to share our film with such an incredible audience in Seattle.

There’s something special about being surrounded by cinema everywhere and even more so about meeting amazing and immensely talented filmmakers from all over the world. I wish I could write down the names of everyone I met, but I’d probably need a whole separate post for that! And somehow, I forgot to take photos with a lot of them. 🥲

Thank you, @tasveerorg, for bringing us all together and making this such a memorable experience.

Until next time! ❤️🎬 by @basirahmed

KHAZANA is heading to Seattle. 🇺🇸

We’re incredibly honoured to announce that KHAZANA has been officially selected for the 21st Tasveer Film Festival & Market @tasveerorg in Seattle, Washington - the world’s only Oscar®-qualifying South Asian film festival.

For an independent Pakistani short film, this is a huge honour. And for me, it’s even more special because I’ll be making the journey all the way from Karachi to Seattle to attend the screening and share the film with audiences in person.

This will be KHAZANA’s West Coast Premiere.
