🥜 NUTTY CROSS IS BACK 🥜

California’s biggest cyclocross race returns to @ruhstallerbeer Farm in Dixon on Sunday, November 22, 2026.

Swipe through for what it actually looks like: mud, hand-ups, a kids race, live music, a relay race, beer & food trucks, and a whole lot of people not taking themselves too seriously. That’s the point. It’s hard, it’s a mess, and it’s the most fun you’ll have on a bike all fall.

🚴 Never raced cyclocross before? Your first one is FREE. Email chris@boundlesslocomotion.com to claim your entry.
🎟 Registration is OPEN! Tap the link in bio.
👇 Tag the friend who needs to stop saying “next year.”

Your Cyclocircus Ringmaster here to remind you that we're throwing 2 epic weekends of racing designed to compliment and confound the other serious racing going on around NorCal!

November 7 & 8 we'll be back at Laguna del Sol, a fantastic resort with a traditional style CX course around a lake. There's a hotel, a restaurant, pools and hot tubs, and camping so we encourage you to make a weekend of it. There's also our world-infamous naked race at the end of each day so bring your original skinsuit!

November 22 we bring you Nutty Cross, a part of the historic and resurgent BASP series, presented by Boundless Locomotion. Nutty always delivers the best weekend cross experience in California, racing through a walnut orchard attached to a steampunk brewery because we're tired of boring city parks too.

More details at cyclocircus.com, the link is probably in the bio but honestly we can't be bothered to check. Good luck. by @baspcyclocross

THE BEST URBAN CYCLOCROSS RACE IN THE WORLD IS BACK.

At least that's what we've been calling it until someone proves us wrong.

MARE ISLAND UCX RETURNS NOVEMBER 1ST!

Once home to one of the most important naval shipyards in American history, Mare Island has seen its fair share of battles.

Now it's home to a different kind of battle.

One involving skinny tires, tight spandex, and grown adults doing things on bicycles that they haven't done since Bon Jovi was king.

Forget your typical cyclocross course.

We're taking over the historic Mare Island shipyard, racing through an urban playground of pavement, dirt, navel bunkers, and whatever other ridiculous things we can convince you to ride over, around, or through.

All with the Napa River waterfront as the backdrop and Mare Island Brewing Co. right there waiting for you when you're done.

This is one of the most unique races on the calendar, and we're pretty excited to bring it back.

Come for the racing. Stay for the brewery. Stick around for your favorite BASP community!

NOVEMBER 1ST. MARE ISLAND UCX.

The best urban cyclocross race in the world.
BASP is back.

September 20 — Race 1: Shoreline Shredder
September 27 — Race 2: Vallejo Velocity
October 24 — Race 3: Surf City CX
October 25 — Race 4: Surf City CX
November 1 — Race 5: Mare Island UCX
November 22 — Race 6: Nutty Cross
December 5 — Race 7: Coyote Point CX
December 6 — Race 8: Coyote Point CX

8 races. 6 venues. No two weekends alike.

TEN YEARS.

That's how long it had been since BASP last raced at Dan Foley Park.

But on Sunday, BASP at Dan Foley Park was officially back, and you all made the return a good one.

The 80s music was playing. Cowbells were ringing. Bikes were going places bikes probably weren't intended to go. People were racing hard, hanging out afterward, heckling their friends, and generally spending their Sunday in a much less relaxing way than most normal people.

In other words, it felt like BASP.

The best part of Vallejo wasn't any single section of the course, and it definitely wasn’t the stairs. It was looking around the venue and seeing everyone together and having a good time!

Teams hanging out. Friends catching up. Racers sticking around after their races. Kids running around. Bikes everywhere.

That's the BASP we want.

And if you'd like photographic evidence of everything that happened, RMS Action Photography and Matthew Goff Photography were out there capturing the day.

Go find yourself looking fast, looking good, or making a facial expression you didn't know you were capable of making.

Check out the Vallejo Velocity race photos linked in the bio.

A huge thank you to Super Sprinkles and Huck Racing for helping us bring Vallejo Velocity back to life, along with everyone who helped with setup, teardown, timing, registration, course marshaling, and the approximately 4,000 other things required to convince people that riding around a park between plastic stakes is an organized sporting event.

Thank you to Jakroo for continuing to go above and beyond supporting BASP and Bear Race Events. They've been an incredible partner this season, and we're stoked to have them along for the ride.

Thank you to Tamara and Mike's Bikes for providing neutral support and keeping bikes rolling throughout the day.

And thank you to everyone who raced, volunteered, cheered, heckled, hung out, and helped make BASP's return to Dan Foley Park so much fun.

Two races down. Six to go.

Next up we're heading to Santa Cruz for TWO DAYS of Surf City CX on Oct 24th and 25th.

See you in Santa Cruz!

Shoreline Shredder got the BASP season rolling, and now we're taking this show to Vallejo!

Vallejo Velocity presented by @supersprinkles.racing is this Sunday!

We're ready for another full day of racing bikes, hanging out with friends, cheering way too loudly, and making questionable decisions between the course tape.

A couple important reminders before you head out:

Bring your BASP number plate.

That number is yours for the season, so don't leave it sitting in the garage next to the shoes you also almost forgot.

Everyone needs to check in at registration on race day.

Even if you're already registered and have your number plate, swing by registration and check in before your race.

Then get your bike ready, find your friends, warm up the legs, and prepare to do it all over again.

If you raced Shoreline, you already know how much fun we're going to have.

If you missed Shoreline, Vallejo is your chance to jump in.

Race 2. Vallejo Velocity. This weekend.

Let's keep this BASP season rolling.

✅ September 20 — Race 1: Shoreline Shredder
September 27 — Race 2: Vallejo Velocity
October 24 — Race 3: Surf City CX
October 25 — Race 4: Surf City CX
November 1 — Race 5: Mare Island UCX
November 22 — Race 6: Nutty Cross
December 5 — Race 7: Coyote Point CX
December 6 — Race 8: Coyote Point CX

Vallejo Velocity is this weekend, and we need some extra hands to help us make it happen.

We're looking for volunteers to join us this Saturday and Sunday with everything that goes into putting on a day of cyclocross. Course setup, venue setup, course marshaling, teardown, and all the little things in between that keep the races rolling.

And because we believe helping at a bike race should lead to more bike racing, every volunteer will earn a FREE RACE with Bear Race Events.

Volunteer either day and you can race for free.

Or just come spend some time with the BASP community and save that free race for another day.

These events don't happen without people willing to jump in and help, and we seriously appreciate everyone who gives us a few hours of their weekend.

Link to sign up to volunteer linked in the bio.

Come help us build it, race it, cheer for it, and then help us take it all down like none of this ever happened.

See you in Vallejo. taken in Dan Foley Park by @baspcyclocross

Shoreline Shredder came out swinging.

Race 1 of BASP brought the energy to start off the season and reminded us pretty quickly why we love cyclocross season so much.

Fast racing, plenty of heckling, tacos, people hanging out in the grass, and a whole lot of familiar faces back together again. From the first race of the morning to the last one of the afternoon, you all made Shoreline Shredder a pretty great way to kick off the 2026 BASP season.

Thank you to everyone who came out to race, cheer, volunteer, bring the family, ring a cowbell, or just spend the day with us. The community is what makes these races what they are, and Sunday was a good reminder of that.

A huge thank you to our super photographers @gene_torno and @mybucketsgottaholeinit for being out there capturing the racing, suffering, smiles, and questionable cyclocross decisions throughout the day.

Find your photos linked in the bio

And a big thank you to @huckracing and @huckbikes for putting the work in and helping us host Shoreline Shredder to get this BASP season started right.

But we're just getting warmed up.

Race 2 is already happening THIS WEEKEND.

Next stop is Vallejo Velocity on September 27. If Shoreline got you excited for more racing, get yourself registered and come do it all over again with us in Vallejo.

One down. Seven more chances to race bikes around in circles with your friends.

BASP is back.
