REMEDY // BASS NODE: Epsilon Artist Feature Toronto-based Remedy brings 15+ years behind the decks and an unmistakable blend of soulful liquid, deep rollers, jungle and high-energy Drum & Bass. A proud member of the DNB Girls Collective(@dnb_girls), she’s known for seamless mixing, emotionally charged selections and a deep love for the underground. Having shared stages with some of the biggest names in Drum & Bass, Remedy offers more than music. She creates a space where the dance floor becomes a sanctuary, and music heals. Because music is the remedy. This one’s special. Bloom 2024. Rain lasers, first time Remedy blew my mind. 40Hz Stacks beach party. First time my partner and I danced to her together. Promise NYE. Running my projections above the stage during her set. Bloom 2026. Two years later, same festival, side by side again. Now she’s playing Bass Node. Feels full circle. Till the circle expands. 🎶 Take Me Higher - ICONS 🗓️ Fri Oct 16 ⏰ Workshop* 8–10 🔊 DJs + openHDMI 10–late (bring a laptop if you want to plug in) 📍 Alternity, 333 Bloor St W 🎫 Limited workshop spots, link in bio * Workshop is in a separate room. Bass Node is primarily a bass music night with live visuals. This time we’ve got an extra special DnB edition! Lineup: Remedy Living~Stone Poly-Esther Kyla D Astrolope (ambient, opening set) Bass Node goes like this: we open the night with a TouchDesigner visuals workshop, this time on RayTK. Astrolope plays an ambient opening set in the main room while the workshop runs up in the lounge, so come down early for it. After the workshop, the DJs get going and the party starts. We nerd out in the lounge and open the projections to any VJ who wants to plug in (openHDMI). Come for the DnB, stay for the visuals :) 🗓️ Oct 16 ⏰ Workshop 8–10 🔊 DJs + openHDMI 10–late 📍 Alternity, 333 Bloor St W 💻 Bring a laptop if you want to plug in for openHDMI 🎫 Limited spots, link in bio . . . . . #touchdesigner #openHDMI #DnB #generativeArt #vj by @bass.node
// BASS NODE: EPSILON Workshop Overview For this Bass Node workshop I’ll be going into extending touchdesigner, primarily with the amazing RayTK, a codeless SDF toolkit by @t3kt and creating a few audio-reactive scenes with it. I will also be talking about T3D (by @josefpelz) and combing RayTK with it. 🎶 - a snippet taken from a live practice session for this ambient performance by Astrolope! 🗓️ Oct 16 | ⏰ Workshop 8–10 (openHDMI 10–late) 📍 Alternity, 333 Bloor St W 💻 Bring a laptop if you want to plug in 🎫 Workshop Limited spots, link in bio * Workshop is in a separate room, feel free to come just for the ambience too. . . . . . . . #touchdesigner #generativeart #audioreactive #rayTK #ambient by @bass.node
Bass Node Tapes Vol.1 is out today! Featuring @measure.music, @cellsync_, and @kilometreclub. I'm excited to be able to release this project with the help of @imaginarynorth, and I can't wait to hear what people think of it! The link to the album is astrolope.bandcamp.com/album/the-bass-node-tapes - It's also linked in my bio. This video clip is from track 7, Solar Sailing ft. @kilometreclub. It's possibly the least "ambient" moment on the album, featuring a prominent drum beat and distorted guitar. Yet it fits in seamlessly with the rest of the album, maintaining its otherworldly, abstract quality. Btw if you don't know, @bass.node is a series of hybrid #TouchDesigner workshops/open HDMI bass music nights hosted by @a.melv at @alternity.hub. I recently played at the 5th one, and I'll be posting a long-form video of that performance on my youtube channel soon! Stay tuned. by @bass.node
Today we release the incredible collection Bass Node Tapes Vol. 1 by Toronto’s @astrolope. This is a collection of improvisations recorded live at the ongoing series @bass.node, hosted by @a.melv (who also provided cover art). For each of the series’s shows, Astrolope uses his custom drum and modular synth rig to create majestic electronic textures, while a TouchDesigner workshop runs in an adjacent room. Sometimes, he brings in guests, in this case @kilometreclub @measure.music @cellsync_. This is a collection of tracks to get lost in. Available now on Bandcamp and streaming services. by @bass.node
This is the 8th and final track from the upcoming @bass.node Tapes Vol.1, titled Nerves and Wires. That name comes from a feeling that I sometimes get while playing the synth, when I feel that the nerves in my body and the wires in the synth become part of one meta-organism. It's almost like riding a horse, where you can relatively easily steer it and influence where it goes, but it's still a creature with a mind of it's own. I'm able to play the modular synth in this quite organic and intuitive way using my drum pads, it's one of my favorite techniques for making the music feel more fluid and free. It means that my hands are directly creating the timing and velocity of the sounds, not just controlling them abstractly with knobs and sliders. Bass Node Tapes Vol.1 comes out on @imaginarynorth this Friday, Oct 30. by @bass.node
Bass Node Tapes - Oct 30 This is an excerpt from track 3 of the upcoming album, titled Subterranean Life Ft. @kilometreclub. In the background of the video you can see a bit of @a.melv's workshop, that we're providing music for. Having to create 2 full hours of "thinking music" on the spot is always an interesting challenge that never fails to lead to unique and evocative moments, like this one! Stay tuned for the full release, on @imaginarynorth, October 30th. by @bass.node
Bass Node Tapes Vol.1 - October 30, 2026 I'm excited to announce that I'm releasing an album very soon on the wonderful @imaginarynorth label, comprised entirely of live recordings featuring some very talented friends. As part of the @bass.node event series masterminded by @a.melv, I had the opportunity to play and record many improvised live sets over the past year or so. These "tapes" contain dozens of special musical moments, and I'm excited to share some of them with you. This studio clip featuring @measure.music was recorded during a warmup/rehearsal session for the event, and he played such an evocative and moving chord progression that I was immediately transported to an alternate, melancholic realm. This is an excerpt of track 4 from the final album, entitled Burnt Churches Ft. Measure. by @bass.node
Incandescent // BASS NODE: Epsilon Artist Feature Lineup update, Incandescent stepping in for Poly-Esther who had to back out due to unforeseen circumstances. Incandescent is a Toronto based artist whose sound design heavy productions are pushing the boundaries of bass music. His sound is defined by intricate sound design, low frequency pressure and the blending of live instrumentation with electronic sounds, making for a unique signature that shines through regardless of genre or bpm.Whether warming up the room or headlining at midnight, his sets are always made appropriate for the setting. From atmospheric dubstep to sub heavy drum and bass, his productions are not limited to a single genre. Outside of playing and producing he is just as much of a fan of the music, if he’s not on stage you can always find him on the dance floor. Having played alongside a wide variety of festivals such as Future Forest,Bloom and 40Hz Stacks, he has experience catering DJ sets to different crowds. Incandescent is one of my fav dj’s! LIVING~STONE // BASS NODE: Epsilon Artist Feature Host of the Sub.fm show YESYES Radio Living~Stone, an electronic music project spanning two decades. Born out of a love of abstract deep bass, glitchy experimental percussion and dub sounds Living~Stone has performed in five countries spanning three continents. Located in Canada, Geoffrey Livingston also known as Living~Stone has performed with some of dubstep, drum and bass & bass music’s most iconic act. Living~Stone demands your dance moves and will not rest until all are united under the flag of great revelry and joy. As an alchemist of frequencies, Living~Stone blends elements of many electronic styles always striving for the perfect blend, drop and low end rumble and is not doing his job unless the dance floor is a soupy mess of high energy dance, merriment and general enthusiasm.
