🔥🔥🔥 Bass Yard – Do Not Go Gentle – Un plongeon dans la culture Sound System aux influences Dub UK, une ôde à la nuit ! 🔥🔥🔥

I wanted to create something weird, strange, experimental, but yet still groovy.

At the time I was creating this track, I was working on a farm. I wanted to make use of the everyday objects that surrounded me, so I collected the metal rings from heating barrels to make them jingle and rattle, used irrigation pipes as wind and percussion instruments, and even gathered old wine and beer bottles from my glass bin to play them like a pan flute.

Once I found a Tar Shehnai loop that felt right, and paired it with some Perry’s words that deeply resonated with me, the rest came naturally.

OUT NOW ON YOUTUBE

« Do Not Go Gentle », is the first single from the album of the same name.
As the entire album was built around this track, a tribute to Dylan Thomas’ superb poem, it felt only natural to bring it to life through a music video.
Shot during the summer of 2024 by @gwenprod, I’m really happy to finally share it with you.

If you feel the vibe, please spread it and share with as much people as you can.

From Heart and Soul,

Musically

Shoted and edited by Gwenael Bonaque.

2nd extract from the album « Do Not Go Gentle », coming out on the 18th of September, “Mari Mariko” (Мари Марико) is an old traditional Bulgarian song, rooted in Balkan folklore.

It explores themes of love, youth, and rural life, and exists in several versions, depending of the era and the village.

Outdoor special mix, shot at Saint Sernin Chapel (South of France).

This is the latest release from our bass music project, « Bass Pilgrimage ». This tune features @ceikaba

I originally produced this riddim during the COVID lockdown, and it has probably changed 20 times since then. It was first called « Darkness. »

The tune sat forgotten on my computer for five years. Somehow, @bass_yard pushed me to finish it and even produced a deep dub version of it.
You can listen to both tunes on SoundCloud in the bass pilgrimage folder or on YouTube on my channel. 🐦‍🔥🔥

Mix and master by the one and only @bass_yard

Also, next tune from @bass_yard will be released on Friday ! by @bass_yard
