Happy Chanukah!!
The light on my menorah is shining brighter tonight because THE PEOPLE defeated the fascist sociopathic orange turd. And yes besides the koolaid drinking Karen's & Kevin's, we have the republiCONs acting as the new SS holding their capitalisic claws on us as more revolt!! While covid19 deaths are nearing 300,000, small business are dying by the thousands, working people & first responders are keeping this country going without proper protection & compensation. Millions are not foodsafe and evictions are increasing. And our healthcare s/heroes... there are no words for their selfless sacrifice but thank y♡u!! So, as the Chanukah story reminds us, freedom can vanish overnight. One must be vigilant to defeat bigotry in any form; one must fight back against any oppression. Chanukah, which means dedication, the need to organize, the need to fight and turn away from darkness. Just as the temple was desecrated and oil was conserved, we need to reclaim, repair & rebuild our planet. TIkkum Olam!! Protect Mother Earth and the Water Keepers ☆♡☆

Challah! It's been decades since the hubby 💕 has made challah. Back in the day when he worked with his Dad at their family 12,000+ sq ft bakery on LI (Cedarhurst Bake Shop), they would crank out 4000 round and other challahs for holiday... and cookies, rugelach, coffee cakes and more... homemade marshmallows for their homemade mallowmars!! I still have my missing favorite list when you're married to a 3rd generation pastry chef/baker... Russian coffee cake, rugelach, chocolate nut squares...

Thank y♡u Kelley @honeybee.herbs for gifting us these beautiful berry bushes & cherry trees on Earth Day! And always a big thank y♡u to my aMaZiNg 💓husband💓 who digs & plants despite 2 badly torn rotator cuffs.
While we must stay home & social distance, there's been less air pollution & waste, and animals are taking back the space we stole. Let's keep making changes in our daily lives to help protect & pay tribute to our Mother Earth. There's no Planet B.

These tiny creatures give us such joy when they arrive in May. I can't complain, but it's on my list to get a good camera to capture their beauty & antics this year! When hovering their wings beat 55 times per second & faster when flying... craZy!

Passover is going to look very different this year, but it's a small price to pay for our collective health & life.
As this modern day plague reaches Biblical proportions, a virtual Seder (Skype, Zoom) will be manna from heaven! Across the world, families are in quarantine or separated as we are from our children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends.
We are all trying to cope with the uncertainty, fear, and for some enormous grief, about how long this 11th plague will last, along with financial challenges for years to come...
Dayenu recalls a mindfulness about how we live our lives. We're living in a time when capitalism is our state's religion, in a world where it's NOT okay that the richest ~100 people own the total wealth to the world's poorest 35 billion people!
From income inequality to climate change, our refusal to entertain certain limits on what & how much we do, the way we consume, discard & waste, are wrecking destructive consequences.
By thinking deeply about what is enough - Dayenu - we have the potential to change ourselves and the world!
