Meet Bas Van der Kruk ✨
Artist. Facilitator. Mover. Word weaver.

During our lunch event, Bas invites you into a powerful 10-minute journey of spoken word, movement, and connection. Together with the audience, he will co-create a piece around HIV, stigma, community, and (self) acceptance — and then perform it live.

This isn’t just a performance. It’s a participatory experience rooted in relational aesthetics — where your voice shapes the art, and the art reshapes how we relate to each other.

With a background in group facilitation, ballet, contemporary dance, and spoken word, Bas brings a unique energy that transforms shared creativity into lasting impact.

Ik voel me altijd thuis in de studio’s van Dansateliers en ben ook daar erg dankbaar voor.

💭 What happens when you let go of something you’re attached to?
Bas van der Kruk & Dansateliers invites you into his studio to experience a part of his ongoing research upcoming Sunday in Dansateliers.

For this performance we ask the audience to bring an object that becomes part of the performance.

What to bring: An object. Something (big or small) that has meaning for you — or used to — and that you are ready to let go of and pass on. (Please do not bring dangerous or harmful items)

Everyone is welcome.
No prior experience with dance or art is needed.
Just bring yourself, your object, and your curiosity.

✨ Resident at Dansateliers!
Bas van der Kruk has been in the studio with us and researching relationships with objects. Why do we hold on to things? What gives them value? And what happens — in us and between us — when we break or give objects away?

Bas uses movement to bring people together and make visual ideas come alive — to share a moment, question the world, and stay curious. In the work of Bas, philosophy and dance meet. Exploring themes like claiming space, social codes, visibility, misunderstanding — always with a hint of glitter, humor, and self-mockery. 🔥

I JUST DON’T SEE IT is going on tour up until December 3rd, yay!

It’s been quite the ride being part of DANSLOKAAL 12 and creating this piece with the dancers. Wouldn’t have wanted to miss it for the world.

Meet the cast of DANSLOKAAL’s
🕶 I JUST DON’T SEE IT 🕶
@basvanderkruk (Dansateliers) & dancers Timo, Sofia en Alexander worked the past weeks in studio towards this dance piece which will premiere on Saturday October 5 at festival @nederlandsedansdagen in Maastricht. It will also be performed from 10-20 October at HUIS Conny Janssen Danst in Rotterdam and then will tour through The Netherlands.

Life is an introduction to death

Is a dance and movement heavy performance journey with speech and video created by @kuhalinda and @basvanderkruk.

They’re just two 30-something-year-olds trying to figure this thing - life - out.

What if life is an introduction?
What are introductions?
How can I introduce something unknown?
Why oh why did my computer die?

While creating the piece Linda and Bas also formed the band Snookbaas🎙️ 🎶✨
No dance heavy performance without music 😉
In life, create your own soundtrack and march to the beat of your own drum, right?
