Save this for your Waiheke Island trip! 🍷🏝️

We recently spent 3 days exploring Waiheke - here’s the perfect itinerary for day 1:

⛴️ Auckland → Waiheke
Catch the @fullers360 ferry from Auckland CBD to the island. It’s around a 40 minute journey, and you can grab a coffee and snacks on-board for the trip over

🍵 Tea Blending Experience
Head into Oneroa and start the trip with the @timmysmithspace Tea Blending Experience. You’ll get to taste a variety of herbal teas, have fun guessing the flavours, then create and name your own blend with your new-found tea knowledge!

🥪 Lunch at The Island Grocer
Head across the road to @theislandgrocer for fresh, locally made food. The sourdough sandwiches and cheesecake were both so delicious!

🍷 Batch Winery
Make your way up to @batchwinery, Waiheke’s highest vineyard, for a wine tour and tasting. Then grab a piece of their island-famous pavlova and take in the stunning views!

🏝️ Accommodation Check in
Stay at @onetangibeachapartments, just a 30 second walk from the beautiful Onetangi Beach. Our ocean-view apartment was spacious, comfortable and exactly what we needed after a day exploring the island.

🍽️ Dinner at Vino Vino
Finish the day at @vinovino_waiheke with sharing plates, wine tastings and one of the best restaurant views in town! 🌅

💡 OUR TOP TIP: If you’re doing Waiheke properly, we’d recommend staying at least 2-3 nights. There’s way too much to squeeze into a single day, and the island is best enjoyed when you can slow down, enjoy a variety of activities and not worry about rushing for the ferry home!

Follow @anna_mike_travels for day 2! #AD

The vineyard team have drilled every second row to incorporate our regenerative cover crops such as Red Clover. Planting a regenerative blend into the soil supports soil nutrition, soil structure, and balances pH. This provides our vines with the right nutrients and support from the ground up for the season ahead. by @batchwinery

Looking for a relaxed vibe and the freedom to create a day that’s truly your own? Umaya and James showed us exactly how it’s done! 🌿✨

To make their day truly reflective of who they are, Umaya and James blended traditions. With a Sri Lankan Poruwa ceremony - a symbolic ritual giving thanks to parents and blessing their marriage - followed by a Western ceremony complete with vows, rings, and personal touches from a close friend.

From a sun-drenched outdoor ceremony and casual cocktail hour on the lawn to a delicious feast in The Greenhouse, their celebration was seamless from start to finish. In Umaya’s words, "We loved having the outdoor area for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and the Greenhouse was perfect for the reception dinner. The food was delicious, and we had many comments from guests about how great the whole day was!".

Head to the link in our bio to read Umaya & James’ full Real Wedding Feature and see all the gorgeous inspiration and details from their day!
