Meet @annabelgrimshawdesign she lives just outside of Bath and has built-up a stellar rep as one of the South West’s very best interior designers: known for her meticulous attention to detail and her brilliantly joyful aesthetic. I’ve long been a fan of her ability to create the most cosseting, colourful and beautiful homes (flip thru for a feel of her work which has been featured everywhere from @houseandgardenuk to @englishhomemag). She’s also the person I have on speed dial (lucky her 😂) whenever I need a recco for a new rug, fabric or paint colour - having forced her to give me her mobile number when we first became pals during pottery classes years back.

Which is why her newest service is so up our street. She now offers a 90-minute fabric, colour and sourcing one-to-one in her studio in Hinton Charterhouse. Here you can rifle through her curated fabric library and together develop a bespoke fabric and colour scheme for a whole room or home: working out everything from upholstery, window treatments and accessories, alongside complementary paint colours. It’s such a great way to quickly get clarity and inspo for a project. Each consultation is £250 + VAT for 90 minutes. PStt the icing on the cake is that she can then order any fabrics through her studio so you benefit from that delectable trade discount 🤘🏻.

You can also contact Annabel about her full interior design service, hourly in-person consultations and remote room design.

PS If you’ve worked with @annabelgrimshawdesign do let us know what the project was in the comments too.

Great gatherings are better with friends. Yesterday @nobodyschild, @bathmums and the NC community came together to welcome the arrival of autumn in store.

Inspired by the collection, @nicebunch put a Scottish twist on locally grown flowers, while @bramleyproducts made sure everyone left feeling pampered with relaxing hand massages and soothing skin consultations.

In the morning there was fresh juices, nibbles and a try-on (or two) with friends of NC. That evening, late night shopping with the wonderful @bathmums was fuelled by @amiewine and @wild.fig.bath.

And because no gathering is complete without something to take home, everyone left with a goodie bag filled with local treats.

Here’s to autumn, good company and more gatherings soon. by @bathmums

Yeps and huazzah! The much-awaited Bristol-based legends of all things donut @pipp_and_co have opened their Bath outpost. And its choca with all your faves (hello bear claws and chocolate 🍩 👅). You’ll find them on Kingsmead square. But don’t go too late in the day as they tend to sell out by 4pm.

BOOKMARK THIS CORNISH GEM FOR NEXT SUMMER! We had a mega dreamy five days staying at the new @cottageorne 🌞 it did feel quite splurge-y cost wise but we didn’t go abroad this summer and were swung by the fact it has a beautiful pool - which lived-up to the hype in spades. It was surrounded by wild flowers, with bags of seating plus a trio of saunas. We went in every single day 💦 🙌🏻.

The set-up is a little hamlet with different sizes of accommodation from the cosy Gardeners Cottage that sleeps two up to seven bed Manor House. We plumped for three bed Ploughman’s Cottage (which was perfect as dog friendly and had the cutest single room for Granny R🙌🏻). Also loved that it was on the edge of the green so we would whip meals out to sit there. The interiors are ✨and we loved all the little touches (cream tea on arrival @100_acres products, tennis courts, foodie popups and more)

OUR TOP THREE THINGS TO DO

LANTIC BAY Our favourite beach was lantic bay about 15 mins drive away. Stunning cove, beautiful clear water. And you can bring a dog. It’s a 25 min steep walk from the national trust car park tho. But SO worth it!

LOOE We loved this wide sandy family friendly beach and town. Its gets busy but has a fun vibe (local volunteers put on free beach games like tug of war and there’s a punch and judy stand). No dogs tho in the summer. We loved grabbing coffees and snacks from @lammanacoffee and getting crab sandwiches from @pengellysfishmongerslooe 🦀

FOWEY This lovely harbour town needs no intro but we particularly loved @nskfowey and also doing the Fowey Hall Walk: A stunning 2 hour and 30 min walk thats well signposted and glorious. Taking you along woodlands, creeks and with spectacular views of Fowey harbour. Also you get to take two boat trips which the kids loved and we scoffed pasties in town and obvs @rubysicecream. We started the walk at Polruan and went anti-clockwise.

Do you have any faves in this ares pls do adding the comments as we are planning to return next summer🙏🏼🙏🏼 by @bathmums

Hello my loves! Just a quickie update of newness heading your way.

1/ Just off Kingsmead Sq the reno on swish new two-floor independent bakery @brumebakery has begun🤘🏻.

2/ Bristol fave @pipp_and_co_cafe is landing in a certain central ex-cafe space this month 👅.

3/New independent pottery painting studio opening in the fall on George st 🎨.

4/ Huzzah @nobodyschild is open doors on August 8th over @southgate_bath 🎯.

5/ Looks like new Palestinian eat spot @zaytounbath will open any day now🍉.

What did I miss ohh wise ones?!🙏🏼

So yes i did miss things! Over on Chelsea Road @yolkandgrind is opening soon (we are assuming cafe-vibes), in @shiresyard we have new purveyor of baked goods @jocelinbakery, over on Gay Street new restaurant @thebeagleon is in the works and @bskbath is opening next week👅. by @bathmums

🍎ORCHARD SLEEPOVER 🍎 We had suuuch a wonderful stay in @hadspenvalley who opened their sleep-over huts this summer. So you get to stay in the heart of working orchard, with more than 1000 trees all set a beautiful valley between Castle Cary and Bruton. Each hut is extremely stylish (both made by Cornish team @pumphreyandweston 🤘🏻) so think rainforest shower, a cosy king sized bed, @pigletinbed towels @commune.cc in the bathroom and a fab @diptanks outside.

They are designed for two adults and then depending on how much you like to live in close proximity to your family 😗 you can fit up to two primary aged kids in the sleep nook below the big bed. Oo also if you are travelling with just one child or no kids you can bring a 🐶. Prices start at £170 a night.

We loved the delicious breakfasts and being able to order dinner to cook in the cabin and of course the stash of @brickellsicecream in the cider barn. There were a crazy amount of blackberries to scoof and we spotted heaps of deer (apparently there are many sassy badgers but we were not lucky enough to spot them - next time 🤞🏻🦡❤️).

It’s the perfect spot to switch-off from all the hubbub but also super close to gems like @thenewtinsomerset @hauserwirthsomerset @atthechapel @dacosta.somerset @pinsentsdeli @burnthoneyuk @thethreehorseshoesbatcombe

✨NEW OPENING✨The long-awaited @corshamhouse opened today and lordy it’s wonderful! The @beckford.group have worked their magic in spades and transformed this building, which was once a bank into the most fabulous restaurant and bottle shop with rooms. The food was incredible (pls pls order the @westcombe curds which were actually puffs sent from heaven), the vibes, the decor the lovely staff. Tick tick tick! Also the courtyard is an absolute holiday slice on day like today.
