Sophie Thatcher’s third guest starring role on a TV series was as Deb in the third season of “Chicago Med,” in 2018. She had done a single episode guest starring role on “Chicago PD,” but she was so good they brought her back playing a different character in this related series. She’s 17 in Chicago Med, and amazingly good. She was clearly going places (once she got off that gurney). @soapy.t @nbcchicagomed #sophiethatcher by @bathsheba_rising

Sophie Thatcher is slated to star in Jennifer Kent’s upcoming adaptation of the cyberpunk novel “The Girl Who Was Plugged In.” It’s a dream pairing. Kent is the director of the acclaimed feminist horror film “The Babadook,” and the beautiful, haunting period film “The Nightingale.” She also directed my favorite episode of “Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities,” titled “The Murmuring.” Kent’s horror tends to creep up on you, and the pairing of Kent and intense, skilled actor Sophie Thatcher is a match made in heaven. @soapy.t #jenniferkent #sophiethatcher #thegirlwhowaspluggedinmovie by @bathsheba_rising

OT non-Sophie post! Did you see “Keeper” (2025)? What did you think of it? Today I had a date with a guy I’ve gone out with a few times. He was nice enough to come up from Manhattan to Westchester where I live, and part of the date was watching KEEPER at my place. The date was
a disaster 😅 — I’ll spare you the details, but let me just say he and I disagreed on the movie. He said it wasn’t scary, and a “woman’s picture.” I thought it was very scary, and not just a woman’s picture (lol). Also (SPOILER ALERT) do you think that Liz (the Tatiana Maslany character) was a reincarnation of the pregnant woman from 200 years before? I thought Maslany was **AMAZING** in this movie! Please give me your thoughts about it if you saw it! @tatianamaslany @osgoodperkins #keepermovie @keeper.movie by @bathsheba_rising

Plot details for Sophie Thatcher’s upcoming film “Cavendish” — “Set in 1645, on the eve of her wedding into the powerful Cavendish dynasty, Margaret Pardshaw (Thatcher) sees her world torn apart when her fiancé is killed and she is falsely accused of witchcraft. Hunted through the forest by Barlow, a ruthless witch finder, Margaret’s only chance of survival lies with Nell (Kellyman), a razor-sharp, fearless poacher living on the fringes of society, who initially has no interest in helping a spoilt rich girl. What follows is a night of relentless pursuit, blood-soaked survival and hard-won alliances. Pushed to their limits and forced to fight back with everything they have, the two women discover that what unites them is stronger than the world that divided them.” Filming was supposed to begin in Poland last month — if you have any news about that, please drop it in a comment. @soapy.t #sophiethatcher @erin.kellyman by @bathsheba_rising

Sophie Thatcher was so good in a guest appearance on “Chicago PD” in 2016, she was brought back for a recurring role on “Chicago Med” for the third season. You don’t even have to hear the dialogue to get the sense of anxiety Sophie is conveying here. It’s all in the eyes. @soapy.t @nbcchicagomed #sophiethatcher by @bathsheba_rising

Sophie Thatcher sang “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” for her movie “Heretic.” She explained to Rolling Stone how the song, which plays over the end credits, ties into the storytelling. “It works with the movie because Hugh Grant goes on a spiel about religion and Christianity, [and how] they’re all iterations of each other. And the same goes with music. He goes on this tangent about Radiohead. ‘Creep’ comes from the Hollies’ ‘The Air That I Breathe.’ They were sued. And then Lana Del Rey’s ‘Get Free’ copies ‘Creep.’ So it’s this ongoing discussion where there are only so many chord progressions. And within this cover, it was essentially ‘Fade into You’ but ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.’ It was clever, and it works well at the end of the movie to put a little ribbon on it.” The song is a fitting outro for the heroic, tragic Sister Barnes. @soapy.t @rollingstone @hereticmovie #sophiethatcher by @bathsheba_rising

Glass is a central motif in Sophie Thatcher’s song “Pivot & Scrape.” As she told Flood Magazine: “The imagery and lyrics for this piece were inspired by dreams I kept having about throwing myself into glass. It felt guttural and like a strong juxtaposition with the dreaminess of the sound. There’s also a relentlessness to the lyrics, I feel—the “scrape” meaning you pick up the glass and keep moving. I found strength in the imagery of a ballerina dancing on glass and cutting herself, but still moving forward with the dance.” Music video copyright Sophie Thatcher. @soapy.t @floodmagazine #sophiethatcher #pivotandscrape by @bathsheba_rising

“My Friend” is the first song on Sophie Thatcher’s ep, “Pivot & Scrape.” She told Flood Magazine, “Ellie came up with this synth line that sounded like a funeral march to me, and I immediately started writing over it and coming up with lyrics. I wanted the song to feel hopeful and based a lot of the lyrics off Ellie.” @soapy.t @elliethatchr #sophiethatcher #pivotandscrape by @bathsheba_rising
