Construction begins on this four story townhouse in the Prospect Heights Landmark district!
+ We're gut renovating this home, including excavating the cellar to increase ceiling height with new foundations, replacing the stairs and floors, and putting in new systems throughout.
+ We worked with the NY Landmarks commission through a rigorous Public Hearing process to design a new rear bay window that reinterprets but respects the original, in keeping with the neighborhood.
+ Oh, and did we mention the new roof deck? More to follow.....

Sometimes the most exciting moments in a renovation happen before the finishes go in. At our Bergen Townhouse project, layers have been peeled back to expose the original structure, allowing us to reimagine circulation, improve functionality, and prepare the home for its next chapter.

The existing staircase remains as a familiar anchor while the spaces around it evolve—bridging the home’s history with a thoughtful new vision.

More construction updates to come.

Design takes shape through collaboration. A recent site meeting brought together the project team to review progress, coordinate upcoming work, and ensure every detail aligns with the design vision. From concept through construction, continuous dialogue between architect, client, and contractor is what turns ideas into built reality.

Every detail matters. As construction progresses at Bergen Townhouse, we’re refining the elements that will define the character of the finished home. Exploring lighting options allows us to balance scale, materiality, and atmosphere—ensuring each fixture contributes to the experience of the space, both day and night.

What was once a standard bathroom and storage area was reimagined as a jack-and-jill suite connecting the primary bedroom and dressing room. Tropical leaf wallpaper, custom millwork, sliding glass doors, and richly patterned stone work together to create a space that feels deeply personal—an expression of both place and memory.

Every surface, niche, and detail was carefully considered to maximize function while creating a sense of escape.

Swirling bands of green and black Verde Lapponia granite envelop the shower, transforming a compact footprint into an immersive experience. The movement within the stone creates a sense of depth and drama, while handcrafted details and integrated storage niches ensure every inch of the space works as beautifully as it looks.

A bathroom designed to feel less like a utility space and more like a private retreat. 📍Brooklyn, NY 📸 | @ashoksinhaphoto

Every memorable space starts with a conversation between materials, ideas, and the people who will live with them. For this Brooklyn bathroom transformation, a striking slab of Verde Lapponia granite became the foundation for the entire design, inspiring a palette that balances bold natural textures with a tropical sensibility rooted in the homeowner’s childhood memories.

From sketches and samples to the finished space, every decision was guided by the stone.

Designed for gathering, this reimagined living space brings together kitchen, dining, and lounge areas in a bright, open plan that feels connected to the landscape beyond. A restrained material palette, natural light, and carefully framed views create a home that is both relaxed and refined—perfectly suited to life on the North Fork.
