Slow down before you share! 🛑

Misinformation and deepfakes can easily cloud the facts during election season. If a headline triggers a strong reaction, double-check the source, look for red flags (like ALL CAPS or name-calling), and rely on trusted fact-checkers before taking action.

Stay informed and verify the details at NationalVoterEducationWeek.org/vote! ✔️

The officials elected in 2026 will make decisions about housing, healthcare, schools, and wages in your community.

Getting informed is how registration becomes real participation, and how communities make sure their priorities are reflected in who leads them.

Your ballot isn’t a pop quiz! Visit nationalvotereducationweek.org/ballot to check out your ballot before you cast your vote.

Batten Engaged traveled to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA on Friday to attend the 2026 Virginia Voting Summit. Participants had the opportunity to network with other civic engagement organizations and practitioners, learn innovative strategies to more effectively engage new audiences, and gather nonpartisan information to bring back to our campus in preparation for Election Day. 📮 by @batten.athenaeum

Over 500 plants are now in the ground at the Good Samaritan Community Garden, soaking up today’s rain. Broccoli, collards, cabbage and kale are growing strong and will help provide a steady supply of fresh, nutritious food for local families throughout the winter months. Thank you to everyone who helps plant, care for, and harvest this garden of grace! by @batten.athenaeum
