Happy Friday to all the sole practitioners out there! The grind never stops 💸

📷@lawyerissues - Running a solo law practice sounds glamorous until you realize you're wearing five different hats before lunch. 😂

One minute you're negotiating a settlement. The next you're answering the phone, sending invoices, fixing the office printer, updating your website, chasing unpaid bills, scheduling client meetings, and wondering who forgot to order printer paper... before remembering it was you.

Being a solo attorney means there isn't an IT department, an HR team, an accounting department, or a marketing agency waiting to help. You're the lawyer, the receptionist, the paralegal, the bookkeeper, the marketer, and the office manager.... all while trying to provide outstanding legal services to your clients.
It's exhausting, chaotic, and somehow still incredibly rewarding. Every successful case, satisfied client, and business milestone is something you built yourself.

To all the solo lawyers out there: we see you. Keep grinding. ⚖️

In 2013, when our plaintiff Jim Obergefell lost his husband John, he simply wanted to be listed as John's spouse on his death certificate and was denied.

We took his case all the way to the Supreme Court, who in 2015 ruled in Jim’s favor and established marriage equality for same-sex couples everywhere in the United States.

The fight for marriage equality was generations-long and faced extreme setbacks along the way. As we reflect on this monumental ruling, we’re reminded: Our joy and our resistance will win out in the end, always.
