A few weeks between Hong Kong, Geneva, Toulon, Mulhouse and Paris, and a lot of time spent with the people behind the brand. Paris, to close out the trip. The capital makes it easy to fill a calendar. Meetings, interview recordings, catch ups that ran long, and walks through streets stay inspiring, no matter how many times you’ve walked them. The plan for this whole trip was to treat it like a holiday, and it made sense. Hong Kong, Geneva, Toulon, Mulhouse, Paris. Business ownership is a double-edged sword, but at least with watches you usually end up in the best places. A European tour isn’t complete without a stop back home, Mulhouse. The second largest city in Alsace after Strasbourg, it sits on the French side of a three way border between France, Switzerland and Germany. Family, friends, food, and a lot of wine. A week at Geneva Watch Days. The city is sunny, it looks its best this time of year. Under Catherine Eberle-Devaux, the event keeps growing but never loses its intimacy. It’s a week to connect with people from the industry. To see, and be seen. Media, collectors, people who’ve supported Bausele over the years all in one place. There’s a real warmth in the industry at the moment. A shared sense that things are going well for everyone. That energy can’t be replicated online. Living on the other side of the world, it’s not always easy to be part of that. But people know Bausele - the Australian brand raising the flag. This was a reminder that presence still counts for something. Distance is easy to forget about, until you’re standing in a room full of people who remind you what you’ve been missing. This is the 125 Field, the Australian Army's 125th Anniversary watch. This is also six months of asking instead of deciding. Every part of this model went to the Army for approval before we moved to production. There's one space on the caseback we could have filled in ourselves - your PMKEYS - and we chose not to. That detail belongs to your service, not our design. 125 pieces. $75 from each goes to a veterans' charity, chosen by the people who'll actually wear these. Thank you for trusting us to get this right. A handful of numbered pieces remain from the run of 125.
