One chapter ends. The road to the World Cup continues for Gilas Pilipinas. 🇵🇭

Australia handed the Philippines a 92–49 loss in Perth.

The Boomers showed why they finished the first round undefeated.

Playing without Justin Brownlee made an already difficult challenge even tougher.

Gilas fell behind early, and Australia never gave them a chance to recover.

Still, June Mar Fajardo continued to battle against one of Asia’s deepest teams.

Dwight Ramos kept carrying the responsibility that comes with wearing the national colors.

Mike Phillips brought the same energy and effort Gilas has come to expect from him.

While Kevin Quiambao and Carl Tamayo continued gaining valuable international experience.

The same goes for Juan Gomez de Liaño and RJ Abarrientos.

Because sometimes, growth comes from the games that expose exactly how far you still have to go.

For Coach Tim Cone and Gilas Pilipinas, there will be plenty to learn from this window.

Two difficult road games. Two painful losses. Plenty of lessons.

But the first round is now over, and the journey is not.

Gilas Pilipinas is officially moving on to the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers.

Next up: Jordan and Iran in the August window.

A tougher road now awaits.

But the goal remains the same: get the Philippines back to the FIBA Basketball World Cup. 🇵🇭🏀
