Story time tayo. ❤️

We started the day already lean — 7 kids for two 40-minute games. For 5-a-side, doable. 80 minutes of football with only 2 subs.

Then before the first game, our keeper got dizzy. Down to 6.

Two minutes into Game 1, Baz scored the first goal… then had to be pulled out because he was puking.

And just like that, the boys were left with no keeper and no subs.

But I think this is where you understand what Mighty really means.

It was never about the scorelines.

These 8-year-olds just figured it out. They rotated as keeper. Covered for each other. Kept playing. No subs, no complaints.

They finished the first game 7-0.

For Baz, I knew being pulled out hurt. I kept telling him, “Uwi na tayo.” But he refused. He just wanted to stay and watch his team.

After Game 1, he asked me to tell Coach he wanted to try playing the second half of Game 2. My mama heart obviously wanted him nowhere near that field 😂 so I didn’t push it.

Coach even spoke to him and sent him away from the field to rest.

But he stayed.

And when he was finally given a chance to play the last half, he made sure those few minutes counted.

To be honest, with these kids, I think it goes beyond the games and the wins already.

After game days, they still want to hang out. They talk all day. At 8 years old, they already understand something pretty special:

They ain’t letting each other down.

Couldn’t have picked a better song for this one — Not Afraid.

Because watching these kids, one thing is clear: as long as they’re together, they’re never afraid.

Game 2 ended 20-1. Another 6 points on the board.

But somehow, that feels like the least important part of the story.

Always in awe. Always proud of you guys.

Mighty isn’t the score. It’s who they’ve become. ❤️

Thanks to our Mighty Coach @destarbwoiwonder , I can’t imagine the stress of having one player after the other get sick during the game.

You rarely see me out for events but this one I didn’t want to miss. @balabala.ph has been on my hitlist for kids clothing. So today we joined their event at SM Makati @smkids so I can finally hoard outfits for the kids.

Another tidbit: For all tennis mamas!! head out now! They have cute tennis sets for the girls!

After 4 years in @makatifc @mfc_cebu … Coach @selu10lozano finally coached the Mighty 2018 with their 2017 kuyas 😂 Playing up to U9 and winning both games vs G8 and Barca.

Another 6 points on the board for the Mighty 2018 but now for division 1 of 2018. While I was reviewing the clips, I realized they are not the fastest, the strongest but these kids play with their brain. And at 8y nakakatuwa coz they’re really not just kicking the ball everywhere… but again, malaking trust the process, most of them have been playing together since 4y it took time, patience, effort from all the Mighty Family. Onwards #Mighty2018

New season! New energy! NCRFA YFL U9 division 1 started their games last weekend. My Mighty 2018 team is playing up with our 2017 kuyas. 6 points on the board. Won both games. Thanks to all our coaches for the never ending patience and support. @danpadernal @reffixknows @hassan117691 @destarbwoiwonder
