The outfits. A closer look at some of my favourite looks from the night and a little glimpse into the fun that was had. Seeing my Bruneian and Filipino friends come together on one dancefloor was truly a surreal sight, and one that I'll treasure as a cherished memory for the rest of my life.

#Baz32: BAILE CON BAZ

The arrivals. I took this year's #MetGala theme of "Fashion Is Art" and adapted the dress code to the theme of my party; focusing on form, texture and comfort as my guests needed to be able to dance - of course! - and they absolutely did not disappoint. Looks were served left, right and centre, from the arrivals to the dancefloor.

Night 3 of #Baz32 was the culmination of months of planning, remotely from Brunei, to create an unforgettable experience that could only really be done in Manila.

"BAILE CON BAZ" was an evening of laughs and vibrant conversation whilst dining on a selection of my favourite dishes at @uglyduckpoblacion, and - as the name suggests - a night spent on the dancefloor sweating it out to sets curated by @okayimarai & @b.a.r.ee, as well as a special performance by @dinokilates.

I am so grateful that I was able to mark another year around the sun with people who not only celebrate me, but truly understand me at a level that I wish to be understood. I dedicate my gratitude to each and every one of you that has ever made me feel seen, valued and loved.

Night 2 of #Baz32 was held at @japonesapoblacion, one of my most favourite restaurants in Makati serving Japanese-Peruvian cuisine.

In line with my birthday theme this year - Baile con Baz - the dress code was "Latin Street Party", and not one of my guests missed a beat! It was an absolute fiesta every time a new group of guests arrived and this boisterous little mixer definitely set the tone for the rest of the weekend.

A special shoutout to @benzabala for facilitating such a smooth organisation of the night, as well as Ian, our chief server Justine, and the rest of the team at Japonesa - till the next one!

Night 1 of #Baz32 was a welcome dinner at @dinewithmedusa. The outfits were gorgeous, the vibes were immaculate and our tastebuds were tantalized. A glamorous start to an unforgettable weekend.

When I first caught wind of this year’s Met Gala theme, defined by @voguemagazine, I immediately thought of these timeless pieces by @bonitapenaranda that I wore in a conceptual shoot for #Baz30 two years ago.

“Fashion is Art: The Centrality of the Dressed Body” carries a unifying theme centred on the human body and how it has been depicted over centuries – dressed, undressed, decorated, and honoured. Coming from a collection called “Confessions on the Dancefloor” by @justbonita8, these pieces so beautifully highlight the artistic, whimsical, and sculptural nature of the chosen materials and garments – very much in theme with the forthcoming exhibition at the @metmuseum.

As the proud owner of these iconic pieces, I’ve only worn them one other time since this shoot, and I do feel like they need to come out of the archives to breathe life onto the dancefloor once more.

Where shall I wear them next? Stay tuned.

Of course, if there were best dressed men, the ladies certainly weren't going to disappoint!

So many carefully curated looks and ensembles - I wish I could share them all! Best believe when I say that they DID NOT come to play 🔥

Selecting the #BestDressed women at the #Baz30 ball was probably the most difficult thing I've ever had to do in all of about 30 seconds, so I went with my gut instinct and chose the outfits that stood out to me the most in that short span of time.

I had sent my guests a moodboard of the colours I wanted at my event - jewel tones to be exact - and I was overwhelmed with joy when I received the photos from @prysm_agency and saw that those colours were reflected in my Top 8 selection.

Glitz and glamour aside, the most beautiful thing about this whole segment was the camaraderie and support amongst the contenders which are evident in these shots. Cheers and applause rang out for each individual as they sashayed down the makeshift runway to the delight of everyone in attendance.

#Baz30 Best Dressed: Part 1

When I set the dress code for my birthday event, the aim was to get a sense of aesthetic cohesion amongst my guests in terms of colour & style. I certainly didn't expect everyone to turn up in a showstopper - one of my favourite things about the night 🤩

Knowing how much effort my guests put into their ensembles, I felt it was only right for me to acknowledge that effort by getting prizes for my Top 3 suits & Top 3 gowns. I begin this little series with the #BestDressed in suits!

A night of gratitude, love & celebration - my 30th birthday celebration was everything I could've asked for and more. First and foremost, a big thank you to everyone who helped to make this dream become a reality.

As a lover of social gatherings, music, arts & fashion, it has always been a dream of mine to have my loved ones, role models & inspirations from the creative industry in one room for a night of merriment and appreciation of all that I adore.

From the early stages of planning with @prysm_agency, @relentlessbrunei & Hazim Wahab for the event coverage, dance numbers & carpentry, respectively; to the intermediate stages with @bonitapenaranda of @justbonita8 who created both my birthday suit and pre-birthday shoot outfit, with @wryckret as my creative consultant - thank you for helping me organise my vision and see it come to fruition.

From the technical aspect in the form of lighting by @rysentertainment to the talents that it so beautifully framed: @nurlyanaa/@lyana.sings, @ampuanhafiz, @nassuhaili, @fuadadd_, @marceleigh_blanche & all the incredible dancers - thank you for adding so much sparkle to this spectacular night.

My trusted barber of over a decade, @simssors/@simonsoriano, thank you for braving the highways of Brunei as a newbie driver to add your finishing touches to my hair and styling my beloved bird's nest into a more palatable do. And, of course, my loves @debbie_then & @dinokilates - thank you for hosting my 30th and choosing to share your special moment with all of us.

Last but not least, to everyone in attendance who took the time and braved the absolute downpour that night to be there: my deepest, sincerest thank you. More than a celebration of my life, this event was intended to celebrate the intertwining of all of ours. I hope each and every one of you was able to experience something that enriched your lives as much as you have added so much joy to mine.
