Yes, “I need a crib in both palisades” literally means to be successful enough to have a house on the east coast and west coast, but, it also describes, in abstract, the struggle of striving for something impossible.

When I was a kid, my family and I would always go to the Palisades Mall (which birthed the name of the song).

Fast forward to 2025, on the other side of the country, the Santa Monica Wildfires right at the beginning of that year set the whole pacific palisades on fire.

My childhood home was gone from the moment we left to the city, while our future mansion in Cali (that would inevitably follow my success in music) burned down last year.

I say all this to say: this song is about perseverance. Chasing a goal despite impossible circumstances. The pursuit of love despite past hurt. A healthy optimism towards the ambitions you have not yet achieved.

We haven’t made it yet, but we might as well celebrate the journey.

Enjoy this sneak preview of the ‘Palisades’ Official Music Video and listen to ‘Palisades’ now everywhere music is streamed and sold. Follow @aywzzab to keep up with me on this journey. by @bazzwya
