In the wake of yesterday’s heartbreaking tragedy, we want our Littles, families, and Bigs to know that you are not alone.

On Tuesday, October 20, from 3–7 p.m., we are opening our J Bar J Community Campus to provide a safe, welcoming space for our BBBS community to come together.

We’ll have pizza, food, arts and crafts, quiet spaces, and opportunities to connect and support one another. Come for a little while or stay as long as you’d like.

📍 63325 Silvis Rd., Bend

There is no expectation to participate in anything. Just know that we are here for you. 💚

One of the most special parts of The Big Event was bringing together people who share a passion for mentorship. We were so grateful to welcome two members of our Big Brothers Big Sisters of America team, along with a longtime Big Sister who has dedicated years to making a difference!

Our BBBS family extends far beyond Central Oregon, united by the belief that every young person deserves someone in their corner. We are so grateful for the relationships and shared commitment that make this mission possible.

Together, we’re creating BIG futures! 💚

This is what mentorship looks like. At The Big Event, we had the privilege of sharing the story of Little Sister Layla and her Big Sister Stephanie in our new Power of Mentorship video. Even more special, they joined us in person to share a few words with our guests.

Their relationship is such a beautiful example of what can happen when a caring adult shows up, stays consistent, and believes in a young person.

We’re so grateful to Layla and Stephanie for sharing their story and helping our community see the real impact of mentorship.

Pictured with BBBSCO Advisory Board Member Dana, who continues to be an incredible champion for our mission. 💚

The team behind the mission 💚

So proud of our BBBSCO team and all the heart, hard work, and energy they put into making The Big Event such an incredible night!

We’re lucky to have a team that shows up every day for our Bigs, Littles, families, and community. Creating Big Futures takes a team, and this is a pretty amazing one.

The power of mentorship is in the moments. The conversations. The adventures. The encouragement. And simply having someone who shows up.

Meet one of our incredible Big & Little Sister matches and see what mentorship can mean in the life of a young person. This is what creating Big Futures looks like. 💚

A huge thank you to @reverbfilms for beautifully capturing the power of mentorship and helping us share this story.
