sometimes the best days are the ones you don’t plan. that’s exactly what we did - arrived to the island, and started driving from one location to another which ended up being a very wholesome adventure 🌊 🌲🦌

she’s a WIFE 👰🏼‍♀️

growing up, i never dreamed of being a wife or having a big wedding like so many girls do. maybe it was because i didn’t grow up with a good example of what a family could look like. who knows, honestly.

i knew i wanted connection. i wanted a life partner to share my life with, to feel loved, and to create my own definition of what family could be.

when you grow up in a divorced household, your understanding of family can become a little blurred. you don’t really know what a healthy family is supposed to look or feel like.

and so you go out into the world searching for something you can’t quite put your finger on — something you don’t even know how it’s supposed to feel.

you learn not by example, but through your own experiences and mistakes.

the relationships you enter slowly teach you what you want and what you don’t. sometimes, it takes years to understand what a healthy relationship actually looks like and how love feels. sometimes you have to lose yourself a little before you learn what it means to be truly understood.

and then, one day, you meet the right person at the right time — when you’re finally ready.

everything leading up to that moment starts making sense.

there’s this unexplainable knowing. your intuition, your heart, your whole being seems to tell you: this is the one.

and for the first time, you have a clear vision of what family means to you — not because someone showed you, but because you finally get to create it for yourself. taken in Vancouver, British Columbia by @bbcheva

is your mind’s eye blind or vivid?👁️

aphantasia is one of my favorite topics to talk about, mainly because i love discussing the differences between internal experiences. it’s fascinating to me that some people can actually vividly imagine things in their mind!? how cool!

slightly jealous, but i’ve come to terms with the fact that my mind’s eye is blind.

there’s nothing better than the smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven 🤤

we’ve found the perfect recipe. i’ll leave it here but note that we made slightly more filling (more butter + more brown sugar) so it was extra juicy

save and bake 🍂🥮

🤍dough

mix 250 ml warm milk + 1 tsp sugar + 1 tsp active dry yeast (7 g). cover and rest for 15 min.

add 1 egg + 1 tsp salt + 30 g melted butter + 30 g olive oil and mix.

in a separate bowl, mix 15 tbsp flour + 1 tbsp cornstarch. add the wet mixture and knead until a soft dough forms.

cover and let rise for 60–90 min, until doubled.

🤍filling

mix:

½ cup (113 g) softened salted butter
1 cup (240 g) brown sugar
2 tbsp (12 g) cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
assemble

roll dough into a rectangle, spread filling evenly, cut into 8 large or 12 small strips then roll each inwards.

place in pan, cover, and proof 25–30 min while oven heats to 350°F.

🤍bake

warm ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream for 15 sec and pour over rolls.

8 rolls: 350°F for 22–24 min → 375°F for 5–7 min.
12 rolls: 350°F for 20–22 min → 375°F for 5–7 min.

🤍frosting

beat together:

8 oz (250 g) softened cream cheese
¼ cup (58 g) softened salted butter
1¾ cups (210 g) powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

rest rolls 10–15 min, spread with frosting, and enjoy! 🤎 by @bbcheva
