I dropped off my daughter at school, where they’ve decided to celebrate Dolly Parton today, 9/25. Bee had on her fake nails, pretending to have Dolly Parton’s acrylics and playing them on her song “9 to 5.” All the teachers and even the principal wore different pink accessories, such as cowboy hats, ribbons, sashes, or butterflies. The sight of it all brought tears to my eyes. I wasn’t a die-hard Dolly fan, but while I’m a huge fan of being a girl dad, what truly touched me was the positive and fun atmosphere. We all need that. I hope this tradition continues for the rest of my years because I believe that having another official or unofficial holiday dedicated to simply being happy is a welcome and beautiful idea. by @bbkcomedy
