Jackson State University has molded and changed me for the better as a woman. Through all the struggles, successes, setbacks, and heartache. I would do it all over again because I would not be who I am without it. The College of Liberal Arts, where do I begin? I have been around the world with majors, but I found myself at Psychology. It has been tough, but it has made me even more equipped to be a leader in this field. From being a research assistant to sitting on panels to just being a student in class, I learned so much about myself through these experiences. Thank you to the College of Liberal Arts and the Department of Psychology for challenging me and pushing me! Everybody ain’t meant to be a student leader, but I knew I was at home when I began my journey. I started out super shy (still am) and unsure, but I am leaving even more confident in myself and my capabilities. Just look at what I’ve done: ☆ Blue Ambassadors ☆ W.E.B. You have to WORK, and PRAY, and HAVE THE GPA to be a DELTA 🔺 To be surrounded by women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, means that you are surrounded by hard-working, high achieving, and devoted change agents! There is no place like Deltaland! It’s the place where scholarship, service and social action collide with the best sisterhood a girl could ask for! There’s no doubt that I am exactly where I am supposed to be! To the Dynamic Delta Pi Chapter, thank you for welcoming me with open arms. This chapter sets THEE standard, and I expect nothing less. Delta has always ran through my blood, and I finally got to see it come to fruition! I know this chapter is in good hands and will continue to be the ones everyone looks up to! To my F.L.A.M.E.S, you all are exactly who you think y’all are! Y’all are leaders in almost every facet. Y’all never cease to amaze me. It’s literally DPI University!! Thank you for the laughs, tears, serious moments, and support. College changed for the better when I gained you all! Continue to be YARΔRUNNERS and paint Jackson State RED❤️‍🔥 To my spec and Bethany, thank you for being the people I really needed. Y’all supported me and encouraged me more than y’all will ever know. And God Said… He was going to make the BEST RSO to pave the way for artistic creativity. He gave me MADDRAMA Performance Troupe. Not just MADDRAMA but an organization that shaped me into the woman I always dreamed to be. Coming from fine arts schools my whole life, I wanted to continue my craft of theatre in college. And I DID! To MD, I love y’all forever and after. Y’all gave me everything when I had nothing, and I did the same. My life changed for the better when I became apart of this dramatic family! No longer was I alone, but I knew I had someone in my corner. To my 43, thank you for being the best S.C.E.N.E. to ever grace the stage! The resilient S.C.E.N.E. and the ones who returned to the stage with a VENGEANCE! To know we are the last of a dying breed and we set the standard, makes my heart scream with joy! Y’all are the epitome of excellence, talent, and hard work! #ynmb #igmp To my babies 49, man y’all just don’t know how much I needed y’all. Y’all gave me more than I could’ve asked for as y’all mama! Thank you for giving me the space to show you what it means to have grit, determination, and passion for MD. Never give up! I’m only one call away To be young, gifted, and black oh what a lovely, precious gift With love, Aniya ❤️🖤 by @bbniyaa
