Claude Lorrain’s Mirror, 2025 Series: The Vastness of Small Windows pendant/object . silver 980, gold 585 . 📷 Petra Zimmermann . . . Traditionally, filigree is constructed within a fixed frame, where tension allows fine wire elements to be held in place. It is often described as the art of capturing air. In this series, the frame is removed. Individual filigree units are soldered one by one, allowing forms to emerge through accumulation rather than containment. Structure is built without a boundary, held together by repetition and fragile connections. Each work takes the form of a mirror, yet refuses the stability typically associated with reflection. These mirrors are porous, incomplete, and directional—unable to return a fixed image. Instead, they operate as structures of attention: systems that filter, focus, and shape how we encounter the world. by @bbozzana

Some weekends stay with you long after they end, and this was certainly one of them. We feel truly honoured to have been invited to the International Filigree Exhibition in Campo Ligure 20-21 June 2026, hosted by the Carlo Bosio Filigree Museum (@museo_filigrana_campoligure) and organised by the Municipality of Campo Ligure. The international part of the exhibition was curated by Roberta Bernabei @journalofjewelleryresearch . It was a privilege to share our approach to how a centuries-old technique can evolve within contemporary jewellery practice. Our sincere thanks to @_ilariaruggiero for the thoughtful moderation and translation, and to all the organisers and everyone who was involved for their warmth and generosity throughout the weekend. A special thank you as well to @effeerre_filigrana for the generous factory tour that made our visit even more memorable. We leave feeling deeply grateful and inspired, and we hope to return soon! . @visit_campoligure @comune_di_campo_ligure @filigranart_campo_ligure @blindspotjewellery @eliananegroni @aedo.magazine @laviniarossetti @valentinacaprini @cliziaornato @maria_ignacia_walker by @bbozzana
@bbozzana #geniusloci #autorenschmuckkunst #filigreejewelry #contemporaryart #contemporaryjewelrydesigner by @bbozzana
Slightly Different Traditions – Live Filigree Demonstration at Campo Ligure On 20 June 2026, we had the pleasure of sharing our Slightly Different Traditions, in live filigree demonstrations held at the @centro_formazione_filigrana in Campo Ligure, as part of the International Filigree Exhibition organised by the Municipality of Campo Ligure and hosted by the @museo_filigrana_campoligure Carlo Bosio Filigree Museum. Together, we (Bibi Klekachkoska, Susanne Matsché and Eva van Kempen) shared our individual approaches to filigree, demonstrating how a centuries-old technique continues to evolve through contemporary jewellery practice. Throughout the session, visitors had the opportunity to observe different methods, exchange ideas, and engage in conversations about craftsmanship, innovation and the future of filigree. Translated by @_ilariaruggiero It was an honour to contribute to an event that brought together artists, makers and enthusiasts, celebrating both the rich heritage of filigree and its exciting contemporary directions. Our sincere thanks to the organisers, the team at the Centro di Formazione della Filigrana, the Carlo Bosio Filigree Museum, and everyone who joined us for such an inspiring morning. #Filigree #ContemporaryJewellery #CampoLigure #CarloBosioFiligreeMuseum #threadsandthresholds by @bbozzana

Meet your inner artist! 🤍 I was invited to the studio of filigree artist and friend Bibi Klekachkoska for a workshop. I very much enjoyed creating my first piece of filigree jewelry together. Bibi guided a complete amateur like me through the whole process — from sketching ideas to shaping and folding the wire to fixing and finishing ( that was when I was just watching ;) — helping me bring ideas to life in such a skilled and inspiring way. It was a joyful and enriching experience, not only because I got to explore this beautiful old filigree technique, but also because I got to enjoy being creative and left with my own handmade piece of jewelry. AMAZING! Thank you for this. #filigree #workshop @bbozzana by @bbozzana
We are thrilled to present Threads & Thresholds – Volume 1, the exclusive exhibition catalogue capturing the magic of our recent showcase at the Ruffinihaus in Munich during Munich Jewellery Week 2026. This publication brings together the intricate works of three filigree artists—Eva van Kempen, Bibi Klekachkoska, and Susanne Matsché—alongside a captivating contribution from guest artist Uli Schulz. Swipe through and get a glimpse into the essays that frame this collection. From Roberta Bernabei’s reflection on filigree as an ancient lineage tracing back to the Latin filum (thread), to Johanna da Rocha Abreu’s exploration of the ‘systems of exchange’ found in both nature and creative flow. We also delve into Lieta Marziali’s powerful words on ancestry as a ‘living force’, challenging Euro-centric narratives to reaffirm what has never truly left us. These aren’t just objects; they are physical manifestations of psychological immersion, dreaming, and the organic, non-linear nature of true creativity. ORDER DETAILS How to acquire a copy of Volume 1: The catalogue is available for €17 (excluding postage). Designed with two punch holes for future binding, allowing you to seamlessly compile this volume with subsequent editions. To secure your copy, simply send an email with your address to Bibi Klekachkoska at bbozzana@gmail.com. Important: Please ensure your subject line reads exactly: “Order Catalogue Threads & Thresholds - Volume 1” A beautiful tribute to the symbiosis of craft, community, and the threads that bind us all. Thank you, @anneleenswillen and @elena__karpilova , for your thoughtful reflections for @artjewelryforum_org on our exhibition Threads & Thresholds that took place in Ruffinihaus in Munich in March, and its accompanying catalog (Volume 1). Your recognition means a great deal to us. We’re especially grateful for how you both highlighted the importance of publication as a lasting extension of the exhibition itself. As Elena beautifully noted, the catalog becomes “a valuable, independent object” that continues the conversation long after the exhibition closes. We also appreciate Anneleen’s question about whether such projects reach audiences beyond contemporary jewelry circles. It’s precisely this dialogue we hope to foster—bridging communities and inviting new perspectives into the conversation around filigree, art, and material culture. With sincere thanks to all who contributed: invited artist Uli Schulz @ulisarchiv , as well as the writers Lieta Marziali, Johanna da Rocha Abreu, Roberta Bernabei @robertabernabei4608, graphic designer @_______________lindabeumer and partners @kreativmuenchen @the_filigree_embassy One can also read reflections by @isabelwangpontoppidan and @stevenkp_ #ThreadsAndThresholds #ContemporaryJewelry #ExhibitionCatalog #ArtPublication by @bbozzana
