august, you never fail to change me 🤎

29 was spending my birthday with my favorite people, celebrating baby phoebe may (hurry up now!), creating media projections for a musical + being trusted with a vision, taking a dip in Lake Michigan, Beaver Lake kayaking, and making the hard decision to leave something that wasn’t serving me anymore

a year of learning, choosing myself, and realizing just how much joy is already in my life!!!

how blessed am i 🥺

to bev: thank you for reminding me to stand tall, know who i am, and trust my own strength

to annette: thank you for reminding me that joy is worth holding onto and letting me laugh a little louder and feel a little lighter

to this cast: thank you for healing parts of me you’ll probably never even know about. i don’t think i’ll ever be able to put into words what you all mean to me

to our creative team: thank you for trusting me with two women who challenged me, stretched me, and changed me in the best ways

and to my family, friends, and everyone who came to support us… thank you. every ticket, every hug after the show, every message, every “you were amazing” meant more than you’ll ever know.

i’m walking away from this show a different person than the one who walked into the rehearsal room, and i think that’s the greatest gift theatre can give you

last night, at about 1am, luna passed away in our arms.

i’m sharing because so many of you knew and loved her. i pray you were lucky to know her or meet her. she was the best friend i’ve ever had. the most kind creature this world ever saw. my girl kept my feet tethered to this earth for ten years. we didn’t have enough time. i can’t imagine my life without her.

i miss you so so much my sweet girl. just hang tight because i’ll find you on the other side. i love you forever. by @bbphiz

i could write pages and pages, but instead i’m going to share some of my highlights from our first year together

1. marrying the love of my life (duh)
2. traveling to two countries
3. worshipping together in song (our first duet)
4. grandma’s easter egg hunts
5. the first spring picnic
6. chicago with one of our best friends
7. kayaking the king in our mountain side cabin
8. horseback riding with best friends
9. partying like we’re way younger than we are
10. getting baptized surrounded by loved ones, those pictured and not!!
11. seeing the jonas brothers and visiting tulsa
12. cry watching two friends become one in matrimony
13. and 14. celebrate our (legal) anniversary on halloween, which is becoming our favorite holiday?
15. giving thanks
16. christmas with friends, family and peace
17. new year’s eve, falling in love again
18. seeing him place a prince on stage and off
19. today, celebrating our love surrounded by beauty and a little rain and a lot of fun

they say the first year of marriage is the hardest. there’s nothing hard about loving jacob. it’s just like breathing. i love him and this little life we’ve built together. cheers to another year stink 🥂❤️ by @bbphiz
