With every demonstration I do at TPE, I try to do that, a demonstration of something new. On this occasion, I wanted to do a self-application, which is something I don't recall seeing at this event before. I also wanted to experiment with reusable prosthetics. That's right! This is, in a way, a reusable prosthetic makeup. The main face, where all the hair was punched, is reusable, and edges don't have to be blended. Instead, I have 6 "blenders" on (upper lip, bottom lip, upper eyelids x2, bottom eyelids x2). That way, the full makeup gets properly glued on, blended and painted, and I don't have to put in the bin those 18 hours I spent hairpunching, after derigging!

~I describe my characters as D&D meets Jim Henson 😂💜~

What an amazing and happy weekend this TPE2024 was! This is a character I've been wanting to do for a few years now. The original inspiration was one of my favourite illustrations from the great @geraldbrom "Troll". The design evolved to be slightly cuter though, as I wanted to use the model's eyes and have custom contacts lenses, and the final design was an older Druid character.

I sculpted the head and facial prosthetics on a plaster lifecast of the model in @chavantclay medium NPS clay. I floated the face off, and transferred the head onto a @neillsmaterials head armature, to mould the cowl separately and right away, without making a resin cast copy.

Both cowl & face were run in deadened PlatsilGel 25, pre-painted with punched hair to add to the older look (a mixture of yak hair, kanekalon and human beard hair from the model). The horns were moulded separately and run in Gun Foam, with big neodymium magnets attached to them (and the cowl), for a quick and easy application, without having to make a skull cap (for the comfort of the model).

The costume was made using a mixture of fabrics: synthetic leather, suedette, gauze fabric, recycled Faux fur (from winter hats from a charity shop!), and waxed leather thread. The cane was made combining 3 halloween staffs, joining them and sculpting all over them using worbla and foam clay. The sign was made out of plywood.
The application took about 3.5-4 hours, with the invaluable help from my assistant Mollie!

🌟Demoing with @feroca.soluciones for @sandiegocomicconmalaga 2026 🌟

What an AMAZING experience!! I don't have words to express how grateful I am for this incredible experience. Very thankful and honoured to have been able to show my Teen Wolf selfapplication again, and for being part of a successful weekend full of activities by @feroca.soluciones and fellow artists.

On this occasion, I did a super fast application (usually takes me 3+ hours, this time 2!), while giving a talk about special make up effects, and presenting the Spanish release of my book!

I used materials provided by Feroca, including their new line of IPA activated palettes, which are INCREDIBLE.

Thank you again to everyone who made this happen, and thank you to every single person who took a photo with me as Scott Howard! Thank you, thank you!

🇪🇸 ¡¡Vaya pedazo de experiencia!! No tengo palabras para agredecer la experiencia como se merece. Estoy muy agradecida y honrada de haber podido mostrar mi automaquillaje de Teen Wolf una vez más, y por haber sido parte del equipo Feroca en su éxito durante el evento con sus actividades, demos y compañeros del gremio.

En esta ocasión, realicé un automaquillaje muy rápido (normalmente me lleva 3+hrs, ¡esta vez la realicé en 2!), junto con una charla sobre maquillaje de sfx, y además, ¡presentando la edición española de mi libro!.

Usé materiales de Feroca, incluyendo sus nuevas paletas activadas con IPA, ¡son increíbles!

De nuevo, gracias a todos los que hicieron esto posible, y a todas las personas que se tomaron una foto con Scott Howard. ¡Gracias gracias!

Last week I had the honour of stepping in as a model at @sandiegocomicconmalaga for @fitodelli_kreatfx & @feroca.soluciones for their practical recreation of the Real Steel robot - Atom 🦾

FUN FACT: Real Steel stars Hugh Jackman - who I got to work with on Pan as one of Blackbeard's pirates in 2014, and was directed by Shawn Levy - who I got to work under last October.

Begoña (BB of BBsFX) will be doing a live prosthetic makeup demo at our booth, where you'll get an up-close look at the whole application process.

Begoña "BB" is an SFX and prosthetics artist, cosplayer, and author of the first book dedicated exclusively to special effects and prosthetics for cosplay.

Professionally, she has worked on productions such as Gladiator II, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Damsel, Willow (the series), The Witcher and Doctor Who, as well as projects for bands like Cradle of Filth, Bring Me the Horizon and Enter Shikari. She's also a winner at The Prosthetics Event (UK).

Around June I started the process of recreating one of my favourite film characters and makeupsThe Lord of Darkness from Legend portrayed by the incredible Tim Curry (RIP 🙏).
The whole process stared in my studio at @turfprojects , and it's also a collaboration with @digilegs , who supplied the creature legs to be able to recreate the iconic silhouette.

What started as a passion project and a life demo for this year's @the_prosthetics_event for @tiltmakeup stand, became a little adventure for me and my partner @sifuludwig (who will be the model for this!), and we are now practicing a creature team, thanks to the digilegs! Jason is a natural on them!

I started working on The Lord of Darkness in June this year as a prosthetics demo project for @the_prosthetics_event for @tiltmakeup.

It started as a celebration of the film, its 40th anniversary last year, and Tim Curry’s incredible portrayal of the character.

But after the sad news of Tim Curry’s passing yesterday, I thought it would be a nice tribute to his legacy.

So grateful for the inspiration and brilliance he shared with us. RIP 🙏

This was a demo application I did for Fantasy Basel 2026 @fantasybasel , on my love @sifuludwig 😉❤️.
