Having & loving a Grandma is knowing that one day you will have to say goodbye. One day there will be no more phone calls, texts, hugs or laughs. No more laying in bed watching tennis or getting a dozen snacks from the store for a movie night or hearing you call me "honey girl". Even when you know that day is near, you can't accept it.

My grandma was kind, and caring, and fierce. She was gentle, and she was strong. She was always fitted & always fabulous. She loved her family more than anything, & never let us forget that. She never forgot how to laugh, even in her darkest days. She loved the Lord, & I am comforted knowing she is now home in His kingdom.

Though you fought hard for over 7 years, cancer finally won. We are left here with a hole that can never ever be filled. But you are finally reunited with your son, sister, mother, nephew, grandson, & so many others you have missed. For that I am grateful.

After being apart for 3 weeks while Aaron completed a military leadership course in Louisiana, we decided to take a little vacation/birthday trip to Fort Worth, TX to celebrate 😊

We spent 5 days making all the memories & doing all the things, including visiting the FW Zoo, the National Medal of Honor Museum, FW Botanic Garden, the Stockyards National Historic District & Championship Rodeo, and finally a Texas Rangers baseball game!!!

Aaron had NO clue about anything we would be doing, everything was a surprise! I gave him small handwritten clues along the way to help him guess. Thank you to anyone who helped me keep this a secret!!! Thank you Texas for a wonderful week 🤠

A few days late, but this past weekend I celebrated being 1 whole year sober from alcohol 🥹🥳

Thank you to any & everyone who supported me on this journey, to those who poured juice/water in a shot glass just to let me feel included, to every restaurant with mocktails on the menu, & to every situation that tested me & made me think "damn, I really want a drink right now" just so I could decide not to.

To anyone questioning if they can do it or anyone on this journey with me: you can do this, I believe in you, just keep going 😊 by @bby.chi
