Well hi everyone! Bit of an update…

As most of you know, I’ve become quite obsessed with photography these past few months… and it’s truly bonkers to think just how much it has changed my life. And I mean that with the most sincere positivity that I can!!!

What started off as a way to get my depressed ass out of bed last summer turned into something that I would’ve never imagined was possible. From witnessing and documenting some incredibly talented and creative artists to connecting with a whole world of diversely badass individuals (most of whom I consider to be some great friends); I can wholeheartedly say that, hell yes, photography has saved my life. And the love people have constantly been showing me… it means the fuckin’ world to me, friends. AND HOLY SHIT THAT’S SUCH AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!😩

With all that being said, I’ve decided to pull the trigger on something that I’ve been planning for awhile now. I’d like to introduce everyone to my new website/blog: AlwaysHappyHourHTX!🤠

While this is a huge passion project for me, I’m also scared shitless. I’ve always been real passionate about writing (#CreativeWritingMinor), but it’s never been something I’ve fully shared to people. After being inspired by local zines and growing up reading skate magazines and Rolling Stone, I wanted to start putting my love for the scene into words along with my pictures, which will be accessible through the site! I also to plan to do some interviews, have some guest writers along the way, and maybe start rating some margaritas or something…

Tomorrow will be 2026.

It’s easy to look the other direction; into the past. The sheer volume of experiences that live in that direction is enough to make a man go maniacal with emotions. The fond memories, possible regret of opportunities missed, shame from mistakes made… it’s a range of feelings and a lot to wrestle with. I’ve been wrestling a lot with it lately.

However, the show must go on, man. Be good to yourself and permeate that throughout your life. Never forget the past, as it’s part of your story... And you never wanna lose the plot, amirite? But you gotta keep evolving, growing, all that good stuff. Like a tasty cheese enchilada, it’s got layers. 🤠

Anywho, bad vibes can NEVER hit a moving target. 🎯

“Oh you’re SO falling in love with me..”

.. I say to myself as I look into the mirror at the man in front of me… and ya know what? things have been quite beautiful since I have started doing that!

Have you tried it yet? Have you tried loving yourself? Have you ever tried getting outta that little head of yours and loving every little thing around ya? I dare you to try it. Hell, I TRIPLE DOG DARE YA.

You deserve to be stoked about life, my friends. You deserve to fall in love with all the right people, all the beautiful places, and all the little things in life. It’s real neat, man. No bullshit.

Anywho, it was my birthday last week, and I slept like a baby all week and napped my days away. It was pure bliss. 😊 (maybe I’m just getting old)

I suppose it’s time to hop back atop my horsey (Miata) and giddy on up for the rest of the year (and beyond).. let’s get it!

As always; keep rocking, keep rolling, and well.. just keep going, bud. ❤️

A couple of weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of indulging in the glory of some sweet-sweet tunes from friends; old and new.. far and wide.

It was my official sign that summer had begun in Houston, Tx.. got to jam out to my friends from @elevatordaysband and @junkyardcatband ; who were opening up for ATX’s own @4411.band (who kick total ass by the way)!!

The scenery was further enlightened by some lovely friends and the wonderful hospitality of our host @whiteoakmh.

But hey, lemme stop yapping.. because I did a lot of yapping already in my article for @offrecordtx! Don’t believe me? BSmitty, reporting for duty. 🫡

Little photo dump of recent months. Been truckin’ away at this little ol’ thing we call life, which my therapists says happens mostly off of Instagram! (Pffft, yeah OK Doc)

But in all seriousness, trying to figure this whole thing out. As many can relate, none of this gets easier the longer we hang around. Our buoyancy decreases, the stakes get higher, people become crueler. I mean, maybe ignorance really is bliss??

..nah, f*ck all that.

Grateful to embrace the struggles, thankful to face the challenge, and utterly blessed to wake up and live this life. While all the ugliness grows like wildfire around us, I can’t help but sit back in awe of the innate beauty of the little things and work towards doing something right. And hell, I might as well try and have some fun doing it too.

Here’s to it all; the good, the bad, and the beautiful. 🍻
