Introducing Our 2026 BC Culture Days Ambassador: Michelle Bucholtz 🌟

Michelle Bucholtz is a Métis artist, Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, and founder of @spiritdotdesigns based in Langley, British Columbia. Michelle's Métis roots trace back to the Red River Settlement, the home of her Métis ancestors. Inspired by traditional Métis beadwork and the healing power of creativity, she creates contemporary dot art that invites people to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience art as a pathway to reflection and belonging. As part of the Ambassador Program, Michelle is being mentored by Métis artist and educator Leah Marie Dorion.

Cowichan Valley Regional District is seeking Arts and Culture events for Culture Days across the Cowichan Region!

For a third year, the Cowichan Valley Regional District is organizing a hub for Culture Days. The CVRD Arts & Culture Division encourages businesses, organizations, and individuals to host a Culture Days public event to showcase the immense variety of our cultural offerings across the region!

Our 2024 BC Culture Days Ambassador Alum, Harmeet Kaur Virdee (she/they) is a double bassist, composer, and arts administrator from Surrey BC. She graduated from the Arts and Entertainment Management program at Capilano University and the VSO Performance Prep Program. Currently Harmeet is continuing her music studies at the University of Toronto in the Jazz program. Over the years she has studied with established musicians such as Jodi Proznick, Miles Black, and Noah Franche-Nolan.

In addition to performing Harmeet is the Founder and Artistic Director of Surrey Jazz Nights. Surrey Jazz Nights is non-profit organization with the mission to "build community through the celebration of artists in Surrey." They present monthly music series that feature youth and emerging musicians, along with regular workshops, and jam sessions. All events are free and open for anyone to attend.
