boyyyyy 2025 was all about WORK: experimenting, refining & redefining the type of work I want to spend my time doing. 👩🏽‍💻👩🏽‍🎨👷🏽‍♀️

A year of many firsts I must say, first time event managing, first time styling, first two murals on the avenue, first time creating large format graphics & illustrations for print, first time trying surfing & stilt walking, first time live painting at an event & collaborating with others for a necessary cause, moving out on my own & helping to take care of a new puppy 🐶 & so many other things

I’m not gonna get too sappy but we know the global climate is uncertain, which for me makes it more difficult to view anything that isn’t directly helping anyone as an accomplishment… but I will give myself a little pat. Now more than ever the life I live & the work I decide to do & develop is of paramount importance.

Thanks for rocking with me stills, those that do!

THE LINE 008: BRITTANY. 🎨

What looks chaotic from the outside can feel completely different from within.

For Brittany De Freitas, creativity became the lens that helped everything make sense. A Trinidadian visual artist and designer, Brittany’s practice spans exhibition curation, graphic design, illustration, styling, event design, and mural work. Over the past 5 years, she’s embraced a multidisciplinary path that reflects the many ways she experiences and expresses creativity.

💬 “Creating is not only an outlet but a guiding force and mirror. Through it, I’ve come to see my layered identity not as chaotic, but as kaleidoscopic.”

Ask Brittany what people don’t often see, and she points to the work that happens long before anything is made.

💬 “At first glance, people might not notice the mental labor it takes to arrive at a final design. At the very core of visual design lies an extensive amount of thinking, planning & conceptualizing; usually before pen even hits paper. Imagination and logistics both drive the design process.”

It’s a reminder that creativity isn’t only expressed through making. It’s shaped by observation, reflection, and countless decisions that happen before the audience ever sees the finished work.
