This Fathers Day was different. Not bad but different. The duality of grief and gratefulness have been heavy. Grieving what was--- as someone you love so much can just slowly disappear right in front of you.
Grateful that God thought enough of me to entrust me with my dads care until I could no longer provide what he needs. Grateful for moments, laughs, car karaoke and time to create new memories. Grateful I get the opportunity honor my father in his time of need.
He has "bright" days and "soft" days. Some totally tracking, feeling chipper and joking--- and others where he cannot retain a thought or follow conversation.
One guarantee to this day--a good meal or a friendly face has never failed to bring him joy and totally present in the moment.

Moment of Truth:
Here's an appreciation post to the ones who help me keep my head up high even when I feel like everything is going wrong.
There were times this year when I felt like I lost it all, and there were times when I felt like things were finally turning around. All in all, my friends and family held it down for me. Whether it was a check-up or a reality check. I love these people with everything in me because I don't know where I'd be without them. I think I have cried more times this year than I have in a lifetime. In all seriousness, I don't think I've been so low for so long, but I am still standing, and it's all because of my faith, family, and friends. Everything hasn't been all bad in this year of ups and downs. God has shown up for me in many unconventional ways, and I have been able to make some dope memories along the way. I can truly say that 2023 doesn't owe me a THING! I have seen, done, and been in some challenging situations, whether it was mental, physical, or emotional. I am truly grateful to make it to another year knowing that I am never alone and I have THE MOST SOLID people in my corner who will be there for me win, lose, or draw. I love you all!
