Meet Sylvia as Popsy Mouse! Born on the 13th and a BCMA student since the age of three, Sylvia has certainly brought plenty of luck and energy to the BCMA stage! Now 10, she has spent an incredible seven years learning, performing and making memories with her BCMA family. Sylvia loves that BCMA is a place where she can have fun, spend time with her friends and enjoy the wonderful opportunities she has to perform on stage. Musical theatre has been a huge part of her life, and her passion for performing shines through in everything she does. Audiences may recognise Sylvia from some of her previous BCMA appearances, including Tigger in Winnie-the-Pooh, Peach the Starfish in Finding Nemo, the Doorman in Dorothy, Small Alice in Alice in Wonderland and Bower Bird Bree in Dot and the Kangaroo. But this time, Sylvia is swapping the Hundred Acre Wood for a fairytale kingdom as Popsy Mouse in Stepsisters’ Lament! And if Sylvia were heading to Cinderella’s Ball, she certainly wouldn’t be worrying about breaking in a pair of glass slippers. She’d be dancing the night away in bedazzled jazz shoes! Of course, she’d need a suitably fabulous way to arrive too – a limousine would do nicely! We can’t wait to see what Sylvia brings to this cheeky little character as our cast reveals the story behind the stepsisters and what happened after that famous happily ever after! 👠 Stepsisters’ Lament 📅 Saturday 5th December 🕐 1:00pm & 6:00pm 📍 Wendouree Centre for the Performing Arts 🎟️ Tickets on sale Monday 2nd November 9am! Meet Charlotte as Anastasia Charlotte has been part of the BCMA family for four years and started FiPs (Musical Theatre) three years ago. She is beyond excited to be performing in our End of Year production, Stepsisters’ Lament! What Charlotte loves most about BCMA is the feeling of having a family here. The relationships she has made are built to last, and she loves being able to perform on stage while looking back at her journey from the beginning and seeing just how far she has come. Charlotte used to think she hated musical theatre and would never get into it… and now look at her! After all, BCMA’s slogan is “Get Into It!” and clearly, she did! If Charlotte were attending Cinderella’s wedding, there would be one non-negotiable fashion choice: Converse with her dress! Because who says you can’t be fabulous and comfortable? And if she were heading to Cinderella’s Ball, she’d be arriving in a pumpkin carriage… because apparently, that’s how you get a movie written about you! Charlotte is thrilled to be part of Stepsisters’ Lament, and we can’t wait to see her bring her personality, passion and love of performing to the stage! 👠 Stepsisters’ Lament 📅 Saturday 5th December 🕐 1:00pm & 6:00pm 📍 Wendouree Centre for the Performing Arts 🎟️ Tickets on sale Monday 2nd November 9am! 🐭MEET SOME OF OUR AMAZING UNDERSTUDIES SAFIYA, HARRIET & HEIDI! Our little mice are getting ready to scurry into the spotlight! Meet three of the talented young performers helping bring the magic of Stepsisters’ Lament to life. 🎤 Safiya – Poppsy Mouse Understudy Safiya, 11, has been performing at BCMA for five years and loves singing and performing alongside friends she knows so well. Her Fairy Godmother wish is simple but brilliant: free singing lessons forever! 🌟 Harriet – Topsy Mouse Understudy Harriet has been part of BCMA for four years, starting in Vocal Gym before expanding her training to include Voice, FiPs, Contemporary, Vocal Ensemble, Performance Group and Ballet. Last year, she shone as Nemo in Big Blue World at our Pearl Gala. Now, she’s embracing her very first understudy role as Topsy Mouse! If Harriet could have one wish granted by her Fairy Godmother, she would wish for as many free tickets as she desires to all the shows and musicals in the world! We’re excited to see her continue to grow and shine on stage. 🧀 Heidi – Mopsy Mouse Understudy Heidi, nine, has been part of the BCMA family for five years. She loves performing on stage, dressing up in the amazing costumes created by our costume team and spending time with her friends. If her Fairy Godmother granted her one wish, forget glass slippers and ball gowns… Heidi would choose UNLIMITED CHEESE! We’re so proud of Safiya, Harriet and Heidi for taking on these exciting opportunities and being part of the magic behind the scenes. We can’t wait to see our little mice shine in Stepsisters’ Lament! 📅 Saturday 5th December 2026 🕐 1pm & 6pm 📍 Wendouree Centre for the Performing Arts 🎟️ Tickets on sale 2nd November: https://bgram.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/170139 #BCMA #MeetTheCast #StepsistersLament #Understudies #BallaratTheatre #MusicalTheatre by @bcma_ballarat

Meet Oliver – The Prince! Oliver, 14, is currently in his fifth year at the BCMA and is thrilled to be stepping into the role of The Prince in our End of Year production, Stepsisters’ Lament! Oliver loves singing and acting, especially the opportunity to completely embrace a character, but one of his favourite things about being at BCMA is the amazing friendships he has made along the way. Five years of classes, rehearsals and performances have seen Oliver take on some wonderful roles both at BCMA and beyond. His impressive performance credits at BCMA include Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls Jr., Crutchie in Newsies Jr., Edmund in Beyond the Wardrobe, Young Lola in Kinky Boots, Aladdin in Aladdin and John Darling in Peter Pan Jr. Now he’s swapping chocolate factories and Broadway gangsters for a little royal treatment as The Prince! And if Oliver were heading to Cinderella’s Ball himself, he wouldn’t need a carriage, limousine or pumpkin coach. He’d simply fly in on a magic carpet! Now that’s an entrance fit for a prince! We can’t wait to see Oliver bring his talent, energy and royal charm to the stage as The Prince in this hilarious new take on the Cinderella story. Come along and discover what really happened after the happily ever after… 👠 Stepsisters’ Lament 📅 Saturday 5th December 🕐 1:00pm & 6:00pm 📍 Wendouree Centre for the Performing Arts 🎟️ Tickets on sale Monday 2nd November 9am! Introducing India – Cinders’ Mother! India, 16, has been part of the BCMA family since 2023 and has loved every second of her time here! Taking FIPs Drama and Voice lessons, India has become a wonderful part of our BCMA theatre family and is excited to be taking on the role of Cinders’ Mother in our End of Year production, Stepsisters’ Lament. What India loves most about BCMA is the incredible sense of community and being part of a theatre family. It’s this connection with the people around her that makes her BCMA experience so special. Fun fact: India dreams of studying Performing Arts in London once she finishes school! We can certainly imagine her swapping the Wendouree Centre stage for a West End stage one day! And if India were heading to Cinderella’s Ball, she wouldn’t be worrying about uncomfortable glass slippers! She’d be wearing her trusty jazz shoes, ready to dance the night away. As for her grand entrance? India would arrive in true magical style, floating in inside a bubble just like Glinda from Wicked! We can’t wait to see India bring Cinders’ Mother to life and add her own warmth, talent and theatrical flair to this very different take on the Cinderella story.
