Have you ever thrown a plate upside down before? This was my second attempt, and if I'm honest, I did not think it would survive the reclaim bucket. I designed my favourite B.C. mussel shells alongside a seaweed that takes me back to so many childhood memories. Adorning sand castles or the top of my head as my mermaid hair extensions. My cousins and I would love to pop the really round balloon shaped ones. My dog Winston retrieves loose bits he finds floating on the surface of the Pacific ocean where he swims. I thank him for my bouquet. #bcoceanmistpottery #qualicumbeach #oceanpottery #mussellshells #bccanada🍁 by @bcoceanmistpottery

Some Scrafitto carving done tonight. My life inspiring art. I used a photo my mom recently gave to me, of myself as a child at the Vancouver Aquarium and I converted the setting to be within nature. This year, I made a personal goal to see Orca's swimming freely in our Pacific Ocean from land. I'm happy to share that I managed to do it recently, just up Island with my daughter. I'm so filled with gratitude that her first time ever seeing an Orca, she was observing the pod in their natural habitat. #orca #Qualicumbeach #Qualicumbeachpotter #protectourpacificocean by @bcoceanmistpottery

Now at the shop! New *Orca* scrafitto carved porcelain necklaces and, of course, more starfish and mussell charcuterie dishes.

I'll be glazing all weekend and hoping to reveal new treasures come next week. I'm a heart lead artist, so it's always a guess as to what I'll be inspired to create. A few slip trailing items and lots of textures in this next kiln load. Surprises to come if the kiln gods are happy 😁 by @bcoceanmistpottery

@arrowsmithpotters What a great bunch of potters you are. Your good humor and enthusiasm made the weekend so much fun! We enjoyed sharing our knowledge with you and seeing your ideas take shape.

Thank you for coming out and being open to new materials and ways of treating the surface of clay. We hope you found something you can take into your art practice that is perfect for you and the work that you make!
