96 MPH Florida State Commit Bubba Day

Bubba Day has gained over 10 mph since joining Tread in May 2024. His development has included adding more than 20 pounds, increasing strength and mobility, and managing his workload diligently. In addition, Bubba demonstrates high-level mechanics.

This process begins with an effective first move during peak leg lift, allowing his center of mass to drift forward. During this phase, there is active pelvis counter rotation and passive torso counter rotation.

As Bubba initiates his drive phase, the effective first move allows his center of mass to move at high velocity. This phase is paired with spinal flexion and posterior pelvic tilt, enabling him to express a deep hinge pattern while continuing to delay rotation.

As he approaches front foot strike, the pelvis initiates rotation and anterior tilt. This timing allows his hip to shoulder separation to peak at 36° at foot plant. Moving up the chain, Bubba accesses thoracic spine extension through rotation and anterior pelvic tilt. This sequence allows his scapula to glide smoothly down the rib cage into posterior tilt, creating a clean transition into external rotation that peaks around 180°.

These high-quality movements produce impressive angular velocities into ball release, all of which rank highly in our motion capture lab.

Bubba’s Average Angular Velocities from this pen:

Pelvis: 764°/sec
Trunk: 1047°/sec
Elbow: 2055°/sec by @bday.2027
