The Bossed Up X North Roots collaboration is where Art meets Agriculture. we are working to revitalize the community thru holistic gardening and cultivating safe and creative spaces. By combining collaborative art projects, urban agriculture, and community based planning. Our project aims to connect the inner city with the beauty and serenity of nature. We organize food drives and harvest events to provide affordable and fresh produce to the residents of North Philly. Educational workshops and workforce development will offer greater opportunities to success. Our project aims to uplift our community by cultivating resilience, pride, and unity. #faircitychallenge taken in North Side of Philly by @bdf__

Some friendships don’t fade, they just show up with paint covered hands. 🎨❤️

My childhood friends came together to help bring this mural to life, and knowing it’ll be installed in the neighborhood where we grew up makes it even more meaningful. Grateful for the memories we’ve shared and the new one we created together. Here’s to making our mark, together. 🖌️✨

Self doubt gets loud when you spend too much time in your own head. I’ve learned that every time I choose faith over fear, things fall into place.

Trust yourself. Believe in your work. Stay disciplined enough to keep showing up, even when you can’t see the full picture yet.

We I officially started the second mural panel!

I especially appreciate my people who continue to pull up and put in that work with me. From painting to showing up with good energy, every hand makes a difference. Apparently, I can finish a client’s painting in a week… but my own artwork has been sitting at 50% complete since 2021.

Part 1: First layer down! The vision is coming together one layer at a time. Last summer I completed my first mural, and soon we will be installing the second mural for the Soil & Soul Initiative.
This project means so much to me because I’m helping revitalize a long forgotten space in my very own neighborhood. Seeing these areas transformed into places of creativity, connection, and community pride is the change I’ve always wanted to see.
This is just one of two panels that we’re installing, featuring garden beds, and benches all inspired by the ideas of the community.
Big thank you to @economyleague & The Fair City Challenge for believing in this vision to invest back into Philadelphia’s neighborhoods. This is only the beginning. 🌱💚
