A postcard from 中國 China (北京 Beijing, 上海 Shanghai, 南京 Nanjing), mailed out ages ago. Remember all the panic in 2012 about the Mayan calendar and end of the world? Yeah, that's when I decided to visit. Obviously, the world didn't quite end, but my worldview did change—the world I knew before this trip was another.

Well, I hope this note finds you well. Too much to say so I've thrown it on the slides.

I know this audio is being overused rn, but this really has felt like the odyssey. Like I've been stuck on that island with Calypso. lol.

Anyhow, can you believe that it took me 12 years to finish my degree. Talk about being side tracked. 😅 I mean I was busy living and preparing myself for a job market that no longer exists. And that lead me to start my own practice which is forever going to be a work in progress because wtf does having it all together even mean?

Moral of the story is do what brings you joy, but make sure you can pay your bills. And if you haven't finished your degree it's never too late. Also, if you don't care for it it's cool too. I learned a lot along the way and definitely am grateful for my university experience even tho the degree itself is just a paper. But the relationships I created along the way and the fact that I feel ready enough to pursue a doctorate because all I've been doing half this time is creating and researching and researching and creating. I mean whatever, most of y'all know what I've been up to... some of y'all know when I've been winging it too. No more winging it from now on. We're on the main server now. 😂 by @bdfeliz

A postcard from Florence. Lot of sun, tourists, and art history. This latest trip was about reconnecting and reimagining. Things felt familiar, but still new. The last time I visited was all about the food and trying different places. Everything was about discovering as much as the time permitted. This time we slowed things down a bit, permitting ourselves space to take in the city just a little bit further. We saw a few museums, had lots of drinks, and almost tried to relax. There were tourists, but I wasn't as bothered by them. After all aren't we all tourists on this planet?

Anyhow, I hope this note finds you well.

A postcard from Rome on my 4th (or 5th) trip there. It's one of those cities I've always avoided because of how crowded it can get with tourists. It feels much different now that I've visited the rest of Italy. It's at this time that I can appreciate the true beauty that is Rome. Not the ancient history, but the one being created in the present moment.

My first trip was when I was a teen during a summer vacation to Naples. I remember hopping on that train from Trenitalia with a container full of my aunts pasta. Me and my cousin sat right by the coliseum sharing that meal. Spent only a few hours before heading back to Naples. The next time I visited was on my first solo trip to Italy. That trip I walked from the central station to the Vatican and back. I was old enough to appreciate the beauty and history, but too young and inexperienced to truly capture it.

Anyhow, I hope this note finds you well.
